Shopper Will this reg hook to a oceanic zeta 1 st stage and work well with it?

RON B This Octo works with most modern 1st stages. This is a nice octo and I like the yellow hose as it stands out. Good backup at a bargain price.

STEPHEN S I dive this octo all the time. Works great. Zeta 1st stage??? Thought the Zeta was a 2nd Stage paired with a CDX 1st stage if I remember correctly. I have this octo on my CDX and had the Alpha 7 on the SP. I don't foresee a problem hooking this up to any first stage with standard regulator port sizes and intermediate pressure withing the standard range. If you're not doing super deep dives, this is a fine choice.

Shopper Is the max flex braided hose yellow or black?

MARCUS D The braided hose on mine is yellow, to help signify that it is the octopus. Please keep in mind that I purchased mine back in 2009. May have changed since then but most likely not.

PRESTON P It should be yellow. It should also be a 36" for an octo. But they sent me a 30" black. As such, the braided hose sits uselessly in my gear bag for the day I need a new one.

GARRETT P My hose is yellow, but it is not braided. I bought mine before the change, but I can say it works great. Well worth the money.

Shopper Can this Octo be used in deep dives (100+ feet)?

LeisurePro S Oceanic regulators are CE certified to a maximum operating depth of 50 M (165 FT).

Shopper Would this octi be suitable for use with the GT3/CDX5 Oceanic Reg setup? If not suitable which Oceanic Octi would you recommend.

LeisurePro S You can use the Alpha 8 with the GT3, but the octo that is usually paired with your setup is the Slimline Octo. Check that out as an option as well!

Shopper Will this regulator work well in cold water and does it have to be attached to a piston-type 1st stage, or can I use it with a diaphragm 1st? Would it make a good combination with my Apeks XTX50 primary reg?

LeisurePro S Will work well and can be used with a diaphragm 1st stage. Apex is fine for it. I would not recommend water colder than 48 F

Shopper Can I put this octopus with my mares abyss regulator ?

LeisurePro S Yes.

I bought this to go with my GT3 CDX5 regulator.
Its slimmer and did not free flow like the GT3 did.Using it as my alternate second stage. Its easy to see, Never had to use it, but checked it out while diving and worked great, no problems. Im sure it will be very reliable when needed. Again ask Aarron for help, he helped me get the whole set up for a great price.

... I wore out many regulators..used Scubapro Air2 for years ..we got new regs. & decided to this octopus..they both leaked & free flowed, causing us a lot of hassle clearing & re-purging/ We used the ball holder..some said because they hang up caused the problems???. We are glad some users had good luck..we did not!!!. We are going back to the Air2!!!

I bought this for my trip to Cancun. Leisure Pro was the least expensive I found. Worked well as my aux regulator. I have a Scuba Pro MK25 first stage and there were no issues diving past 100 feet with this.

This is a very functional octopus and decent quality. It doesn't even compare to my Sherwood SR1 primary, but for an octo it's nice. It does breath a bit hard and I would not recommend this as a primary regulator. Most important is that it does "NOT" free-flow!! What a relief
