ALEX P Technically it will work. BUT I would not recommend you to do it. It not designed for constant use.
A lot of the cheaper octos don't perform like you'd want your primary reg to perform. Many of them are specifically detuned so they don't free flow at the surface. I don't think you'd want to dive on one of those

ERIK F You would need to take the Regs to a shop and have it tuned to be the primary and have the primary tuned to be a secondary. But it works very nicely.I've used my rover octo for a 40 minute dive at 60 feet to see how it performed. It worked very well.
SHIMRIT S You can use any octo as a primery secound stage but whay? Its the same price?
ANDREW P I have found that it is extremely hard breathing, and would not recommend it as a primary.
DAVID S The octo breathes well. I do not see a reason why it could not be used as a primary regulator.
GUILLERMO R You sure can. I have seen many rental places offering them as your primary with the only difference being that theirs are Black instead of the emergency eye-catching yellow.
I had to use mine at around 75' and it worked fine. It may not be the very best there is out there, but for the money i think this is a very good regulator.
