FRED W E I did not purchase the compass module. I used what I believe is a standard compass from my own gear. I do not believe that the Aeris XR 27 takes a special compass, and since this is an Aeris compass I would assume that it fits

HARRY S I am not sure. I actually put this module in an old Beuchat console and it fit perfectly. I would assume it is a standard configuration.

RITA R I was able to place this compas in my Wisdom Sherwood computer. I think it would fit your Pivot also.

RICK W It is just a friction fit. When you pop the old one out and go to put the new one in, be quite careful to align it correctly before you push it in, as it can't be turned once installed, and getting it back out could damage it. Inspect the position of the old one carefully!

MARKHAM C Just pop out the plastic cover and you can insert the compass into the slot. It's kept in my grooves or something of the sort. Seems fairly solid in place, I dive every day and haven't had a problem with it at all.

SUZANNE W Hey glen First off this is a great question. This is what I do I use a flat head and slid it around and go under the compass it should pop out it dose for me. It is difficult but use a flathead. And when you reinstal the compass it should have the round lip to hold it in place. Now if you can not get it out use alittle vaseline if you need help get the compass out of the housing. I hope all gose well. Safe diving

THOMAS J You may need two screw drivers to pry it out. When you put the compass in - make sure it is lined up correctly. Line up the lubber line and magnetic N so both are on the top. Line up the console with the top pointing N. When you put in the compass you will look in the viewing panel that will be "0" degrees and N at the top. It is not real easy to put it in and take it out. You only want to do it once.

DANIEL W It sounds like you do not currently have a compass in the console. If that is the case, then yes, remove the cover/ring. Removing the cover/ring and installing the compass will be slightly easier if you can warm the console rubber slightly. Caution, don't overheat things. Water warm to the touch works okay. Then pry out the cover/ring or old compass. Be careful not to damage the console. The line up the new compass in the hole. There are notches in the hole and raised sections on the clear/white part of the compass so that it will only go in one way. The compass lubber line should be aligned with the console. It is a very tight fit and that is all that holds it in place. I have an Aeris Atmos AI, but the same compass is used. It fits well and in the 5 years I've had mine, no problems with it coming out. Even after I've replaced the broken compass.

RANDALL A The compass in my Xr2 console simply pushed out from behind, and then the new one followed. It fits tight in the plastic/rubber/? housing and has been very secure. Hope this helps.

LeisurePro S This compass module on it's own doesn't have a clip, it would have to be attached into the Atmos 1 or onto another piece that clips to a hose.

Glenn G Just bought this. Do I just use a screwdriver to remove the round plastic cover on the back of the Aeris XR-1 console and push the compass into the hole? What keeps it in place?
