This is a very functional design. A fin strap feeds through each loop, but leaves the quick release buckle that attaches to the keeper hanging from the fin strap during dives. This allows for quick, one handed attachment to the keeper or to clip the fins together. Works well for its intended purpose. As a matter of personal choice, I prefer the single strap/clip fin keeper from the same company for its flexibility. I can clip a mask or fins during training thru the loop. Both styles from this company are well built and serve their purposes well. One of these styles should be part of every diver's kit that makes a walk-in water entry.

I wanted open loop clips, and took a chance on this item. The clips are closed looped, only about 2.5 inches in diameter. It was hard to tell by the picture.

I mainly do shore dives, so walking to the water thru the sand and having to carry everything is extremely annoying. The fins especially seem to get in the way, also considering you carrying a camera, dive flag, mask and whatever else the fins really seem to be the worst. Then when in the water you trying to make final preps and adjustments, try to keep things from floating away. This little gadget goes a long way in helping you to carry and keep things from floating away. After the dive you can use it to hang your fins for rinsing and drying.
