I bought this product for diving but it really seems to be meant for snorkeling. The ability to keep water out is great, if you clear the snorkel before breaching the surface the snorkel is completely dry and ready for a deep breath!

I love this snorkel! The "3D" portion of this snorkel allows it to move into any position to allow for you to be comfortable wearing it. It has a very unique design on the intake, channels run up to the top creating an umbrella if you will, thus keeping out sea spray or rogue waves... and as soon as you begin to submerge it shuts tightly stopping all water from coming in.

Maybe this is a newer model than the one a previous poster commented on, but it does have a purge valve. Also I love the size of the tube itself, it is larger than other snorkels I have used and makes for very easy breathing.

Last thing I would like to comment on is the warranty... the warranty card that comes with this snorkel says that it is guaranteed for 10 years - unconditionally - No need to send in a proof of purchase..whether you steal it from your dive buddy or find it on the ocean floor... you send it in and they will fix it!!!! now that is a warranty!!!

I've tried several "dry" snorkels in the past but they were never really dry, making me gulp quite a few mouthfuls of salty seawater. I borrowed this one (formerly made by the Oceanmaster brand) from a dive buddy on a liveaboard to try, expecting to be disappointed. Boy was I surprised and impressed - it truly stays d-r-y. The valve shuts off before even a drop of water enters. Now this is the only snorkel I use. The mask attachment clip broke a year ago, but it was easily replaced by a rubber or silicone one.

I bought two of these for my wife and I both. We agree best snorkel ever. Very comfortable for both of us. Made our snorkel and dive in the Caribbean that much more enjoyable. Just got back but wanted to make sure I gave my two cents on a terrific snorkel. Thanks Leisure Pro

I've had this snorkel -- replacing it with a flexible one in a different color this year -- for over a decade now, and wouldn't have any other. For those of us who freak out when we snort a few molecules of water, this is a perfect snorkel; when they say "dry", they MEAN "dry"! It closes completely at the first hint of water, and is long enough to always be above the water line no matter how you move your head around to see. No purge valve, but it's really not necessary when there's nothing to purge. Terrific, innovative design that really does what it says. Worth every penny and then some.
