Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
RICHARD C wanted a low volume mask with good field of vision
Karla B What colors are shown for the mask and the snorkel?
STEVEN G If no other colors are shown, then it is the color shown. Call Leisure Customer Service, they are good.
Frank L Blue and dark/blue.
BRUNO L Karla.
When I buy diving/snorkeling equipment, color is my last concern.
I have been a Cressi customer for more than fifty years.
The Cressi Panorama Mask with the Dry Snorkel worked perfectly for my wife who is a beginner snorkeler and I can recommend it to you without reservation.
Have a good one.
Bruno lepori.
Shopper Is there different sizes ?
PETER H Just the one size, but it is a good fit with very conformal seal. Unless you are way outside the range of average sizes it should seal well
NICK & JANE O I`m not sure for sizes. It fits my grandson very nice he has a rounder face.
It also fits me with a skinnier face. Its a nice mask.
MICHAEL R No. One size. I go 240 and it works great for me and my niece who goes about 100 used it with no issues.
Shopper which color is the mask on the picture? blue or cobalt blue?
Carlos B Its blue.
I have bought three of this masks. Two blue and one all black.
Shopper Will this fit a larger head, and where are the color swatches (2 different blues?)
RICHARD C not sure which you mean; if it's the strap, that is removable/replaceable so it would fit a larger head... but if you mean whether the mask will fit a larger face, it's best to try the mask and see if the seals are seated well on your face.
JAMES M My head is a size 71/2' my mask fit very well, i'm very happy with it. the dry snorkel is another matter, it stays empty of water and pulled on my mask straps while diving in Bonaire the last weekend. I would recommend the mask with no reservations. I'm not certain what a color swatch is.
PETER H I don't know about the colors. Mineis a kind of royal blue. It will fit a larger head just fine.
ROGER B Yes, I have a large head and am very pleased with the mask and especially with the fit. It replaced an older tri-view mask that always leaked a little. Not a problem with the Cressi. I chose a black mask rather than the semi transparent one I was using. A good choice for me. The snorkel is fine although I frequently don't use one, especially when metal detecting.
MICHAEL R I have a big melon and it fits me without leaks. Very comfortable and great view. I bought the silver. Like the snorkel too.!
Shopper I live in Maui and snorkel 5 times a week.
I need a new mask and fins too.
Is this a good product for me or is there one that is better.
I am ok spending some bucks on a good mask/snorkel.
As I will use it.
Any suggestions?
And what about some good fins. Mine are 25 years old and I love them.
But they to need to be replaced.
Mahalo
RICHARD E I used this mask and snorkel set for both scuba diving and snorkeling on my trip to Oahu and Maui this year. This is the best set I have used, and I've had many others over the years. The mask gives excellent visibility, is comfortable and most important, doesn't leak.
BART B This package is a great deal especially when on sale. The dry snorkel alone is as good as snorkels costing as much as the whole package. It's one of the best. Of course, masks are subjective but the quality is much better than expected. The silicone skirt was very soft and the fit excellent on me but your mileage may differ.
RICHARD C if you can try to find a store that carries this mask, it would be good to see if it has a good seal for your face. some people prefer a larger volume mask -- but i like lower volume masks like this one with the lens closer to my eyes and also makes it a little easier/quicker to clear. the snorkel on this combo is pretty good... and the combo price was a factor for me.
for fins, you might want to look at the same manufacturer as your old fins. you probably want full foot fins... i have older mares quattros which i like but many people like split fins like, and apollo and oceanic are pretty popular choices. if you have a bigger budget, i think scubapro masks and fins are well regarded and very well made. hope this helps.
MICHAEL R I really like this mask and snorkel set. Fit me well with no leaks and the snorkel works as advertised. I have a rather large head, but my petite niece tried out my mask at the pool and had no issues. I paired this set with some Tusa spli fins that I was also quite pleased with.
PETER H This is a very good snorkeling set. The snorkel is especially good. THe mask is a wide view variety which is good for snorkeling but might be considered excessive volume for diving. There aren't very many wide view masks on the market. Compare the windows carefully toothe "Big Eyes version and you will see how the windows wrap back around the sides of your head. The sealing is excellent. There is no purge vlave, but I don't miss it. The mask fogs easily when new so you have to treat the windows with toothpaste. Google for more info on that trick.
I paiuerd this with Cressi short snorkel fins. They are easier to carry to the beach or stow on a boat, The short fins are not as powerful as full dive fins, but when I snorkel I don't swim very fast, so I am fine with that. However, if you snorkel with others who have full fins and they want to go fst it is hard to keeep up. Fins with straps on them permit you to wear reef runners or booties. if you do that buy a bigger size in fins.
CHRISTOPHER C I bought two mask and snorkle combinations for my girlfriend and her son to use snorkling. I had my own mask and ended up using theirs the entire trip. Both the mask and snorkle are terrific and much roomier than mine (a higher end dive mask), making it more comfortable on my face.
Can recommend fins here as mine are body surfing fins (churchhills) or dive fins...(too long for snorkling).
Have fun
KELSEA H This is the best mask/snorkel set Ive ever found! Theyre awesome. I use them to scuba dive and snorkel every week. Even my old scuba instructor went out and got some after seeing mine.. As for fins, just get some matching cressi ones!
Daniel A Does the black mask have a black tinted lens? If so, how does that compare with the clear lens during usage?
BRIAN S I bought the black mask and a totally clear mask, both lenses are the same, totally clear. We used them in Mexico for snorkeling and diving - worked awesome! A++
CHRISTOPHER C Sorry, I ordered 2 of the blue rimmed masks. I must admist they are excellent with great peripheral vision and very comfortable.
RICHARD C the lens are not tinted.
TORRI F I returned mask for it was too small for my face
Carlos B I bought the all black mask and I liked it. Before buying the mask I read from someone that the mask had less light coming in do to the all black silicone compare to the all clear version. This is not true. I went snorkeling and free diving on a sunny day and the mask is great. I can see everything clear. The lens is clear not tinted. Only the silicone and strap are all black. When I ordered mine they sent me the mask without a neoprene strap. I sent them an email about the error and I got it. The neoprene strap is very useful and comfortable specially if you have long hair.
BART B No. It's a clear lens.
Shopper Would this fit a youth smaller face?
Carlos B I bought this mask for my daughter. She is 12 and she is slim. The mask fit her perfectly after adjusting the straps. I also bought the same mask for my sister. She is 17 medium face and it fit her good. Both of them got the blue/ clear mask and I got the all black. Once in a while we all had water break inside the mask but it was very little. I think it broke in because we had a tendency to breath out with our nose and that probably broke the seal but like i said before it was very little and i couldn't tell there was even water inside.
YOW L I don't believe it would fit very well on a kid, i am 33 and average sized face and it fits perfect
Jordan L I doubt it, as it fits my small/medium adult face perfectly. Though it may be a good option for them to grow into.
Shopper How to buy the right mask.?
Carlos B The right mask will be to put the mask on your face and suck the air in with your nose. The mask will stay firm on your face without using your hands. If it seals good than that's the right mask. If it falls within the first 2 seconds its not a good fit.
Another thing to notice is the nose. Make sure your nose fits. It wont be a perfect fit but make sure you can pinch your nose without any difficulty. This is useful only if you are going deep in the water and you need to regulate your ears. If you are using the mask for snorkeling the nose fit wont matter much.
I choose this mask as a blind buy because I don't have a place like leisure pro where I can fit all types of mask. I'm glad it was a great fit. I bought the same mask for my daughter 12 and my sister 17. They got the clear/blue and I got the all black mask.
EDWARD R I loved this mask because it had and extra wide viewing field with no colored plastic in the way to block the view. I also absolutely loved the strap because it was so much more comfortable than the standard, thin, rubbery straps that get caught in your hair and are so hard to adjust. This mask, with the terrific snorkel are a perfect bet and I highly recommend them.
APRIL G To answer the question, first I went to the local dive shop where the prices are usually higher and I tried different masks on for their fit.
After I found the mask that fit properly and being it stayed on my face with suction, I then shopped on Leisure Pro for the same like kind and quailty mask.
As usual Leisure Pro had the exact mask on a deal with the snorkle at a lower price.
Since purchasing this mask it has been awesome. No problems with leaking and most importantly the mask does not fog over. I highly recommend this mask for a middle of the road price with high end quaility.
JAMES C I'm just a beginner, but I see this question asked all the time. Whenever it is someone experienced answering the same is always given. The most important thing to look for in a mask is fit. All the features in the world will do nothing to help you if the mask doesn't fit your face. You can get an idea of how a mask will fit by checking to see what sized faces it is best suited for, but the only way to truly determine fit is to try on the mask. Once you know which masks fit you best, you can decide what other features are important to you. Wide viewing angle, low volume, purge valves, and skirt color are just a few choices to get you started.
RICHARD C best time to do, if possible, is to try the mask on from a dive shop first. the 'right' mask is one that creates a good seal on one's face... and that good seal is different for different people. then decide if you want a low volume mask (like the cressi panorama) or a higher volume mask that might offer the ability to change lens or have side windows or purge, etc.
if trying a particular model of a mask before hand is not possible at least try to find a similar mask from the same manufacturer to check the seal and the field of vision.
