Ron P I noticed that the manual for this item talks about sensor replacement. I cannot seem to find anyone that sells the sensors or the calibration kit specified. Does anyone know how often the sensor needs to be replaced and where the necessary items may be obtained?

You said that the CO calibration gas is not needed, 'A simple breath into the sensor will register' is what you stated. Please do not rely on this as a method of determining whether the unit functioning and is calibrated correctly. First, there shouldn't be enough CO coming out of your lungs to register on the CO monitor unless you are a smoker or have been exposed to signficant amounts of CO recently. You will not know it is working correctly or needs adjustment unless you apply a gas of a known CO concentration to the sensor. There are other sources of calibration gas out there besides what Analox provides, just purchase some with the same concentration as to what the manufacturer recommends.

TODD C In the manual, there are troubleshooting tips that show when the sensor starts to go bad. Usually you can't zero it, or it gives erratic readings.
Call LP and see about ordering both items, but don't get a sensor until you need it. Analox doesn't recommend you having a spare laying around, because it can lose some of it's accuracy just sitting around too.
