JOSEPH B This external Strobe works as a flash for underwater photography. Because of the density of water, light waves are quickly absorbed. This powerful light flash illuminates the subject and brings back color underwater. The camera inside the waterproof case attaches to the mounting bracket and is connected to the strobe via a photoelectric cable. The photoelectric cable picks up the internal flash of the camera and causes the external strobe to flash at virtually the same time (speed of light!). The colors are beautiful. This strobe setup would work for all compact digital cameras in a waterproof case. The strobe also has a "spotting light" that can be turned on to aim the direction of the flash and also could be used as a light at night.
