This is a fantastic computer that offers most every function a diver needs. This computer will handle up to 100% O2 and allow for 2 gas switching during your dive (great for high O2 deco stops). The computer supports PDIS which is similar to deep stops on other computers but stops are calculated dynamically according to your profile. It has a dive planner, many alarms, manual gauge mode, logbook, a safety stop timer and is backlit. I have mine in a low profile bungee gauge mount from deep sea supply. This mount makes the Aladin a very low profile computer with depth compensating straps. This is really a top notch computer that is often overlooked.

Purchased this a few months ago (July 2011) when the price was a full $100 less that what it's currently going for, so at the time it seemed like a fantastic bargain for all the features it has. It's still good value for what you get. All the features you'd want for a recreational dive computer along with basic technical diving features. I used this for my technical and cave courses and was very happy with it overall. It is a bit hard to read as others have mentioned but I found the backlight very easy to use. For me in particular I found it hard to read since it never sat at the exact angle I wanted it to on my wrist, being that this computer is huge, especially on a small female. The one feature I particularly like is the ability to plan decompression dives. Gas switching is straightforward. The computer is easy to learn how to use and intuitive - almost easier than Suuntos, which I have been using for years and had gotten used to. The one feature that is missing that I would have liked is your average depth for each dive in the dive log. Overall, you get a lot for your money.

The Tec's display is fairly difficult to read. I'd recommend taking off the gauge protective cover as that dramatically improves readability. Backlight is difficult to operate.Uwatec supports one and only one Mac dive log program (Ztrac). When used with the IR transmitter, communications with Ztrac were straightforward and worked the first time. But if you'd like to use Mac Dive, diverboard.com or otherwise communicate with the unit using a Mac, you are out of luck. The Ztrac program won't even output a usable file for import into another program.The other computer I have (the Oceanic Veo) is much more flexible to use with a Mac.
