So Far Very Good!!!

Comments about Aqua Hawk Eye Handheld Digital Sonar System, DF2200PX:
After taking a depth reading and removing my finger from the button, the device continues to measure depth. After removing it from the water the last depth read can still be seen on the LCD. This is a nice feature as you can lift it out of the water to read the last measured depth, while on a boat and put it back into the water for continued reading. Very Nice!!! It will stop after a few seconds out of the water. It is larger than the Scuba Pro Personal Dive Sonar but not a problem. The areas that I measured are soft muddy bottom and this was not a problem for the device at all. I got a clear reading every time and checked this reading with my paddle and cord\weight depth gauge.I have not taken the device to depth.

Great Addition

About Me Professional Diver
The product is great for many of the dives we do. If I am doing a wall dive, I use it to surface swim to the depth I want, then drop right onto the wall. I've loaned it to friends to find the walls at many of our dives... In addition, great for divesite mapping. Two person endeavor, but not tide dependant. Shore buddy uses range finder on you as you surface kick calling out depths. As a side note, it does float... so expect it to bump into things as you dive, a lanyard is the best choice. It's not for every dive, but wall dives and mapping are great options. I did use it in some low vis pacific northwest diving (1-2ft). It worked great for locating my lost diving buddy (7 feet away).

This is the first hand held sonar I have ever had. Not overly impressed. When you read the description it sounds like it does all kinds of cool stuff.Reality: You push the button and it shows temp and depth (accurately as far as I could tell) and maybe a little fish symbol. I would recommend this to a friend if all they need is what is above, but I am sure there are better products out there.
