Shopper what are the measurements. Is it like a 'real chamois hide'? .I am talking about the original CHAMOIS HIDE from the animal. I can get them in Tarpon Springs, FL. I live 8 miles north of the Greek sponge docks. They tan them there but cost a boatload more than Ten Bucks. I quit diving ten years ago, but swim three days a week in an out doors heated pool. Towels are a pain in the*****
M D It's far from chamois and it ain't big enough. I have it as a 'just in case' kinda thing, don't really use it.
JAMES W Well, it's about the size of what would be considered to be a Hand Towel at home.
It's an "OK" towel but is nothing like a chamois.. I just use the one I have to dry my hair a little before I put my hat back on after getting out of the water and it's not really big enough to do much else with. It's fine for small jobs but not what I had envisioned when I bought it.
If you are after a towel to use for drying off after swimming, I'd get some thing larger.
PAUL R Hey neighbor! I lived in Tarpon for 15 yrs. My Henderson towel is about 18"w x 29"L and is very thin, about 1/16" thick. It is similar to a micro fiber and is super absorbant...definitely NOT a leather chamois. Much easier to clean than a chamois, just toss it in the washer and let it air dry.
If you want a towel to wrap around you for warmth after you get out of the water, this is not gonna work. If you just want to dry off and not have a heavy wet towel to haul around, this is perfect.
I keep it in my snorkel bag and take it when I go kayaking. Takes up less room than my mask. Very compact and drys very quickly. Not real good around fish hooks though, it snags kinda easy.
WILLIAM P The towel is about 12 by 18 inches and is some sort of microfiber. I use it to dry off between dives and it works like a champ. It also drys quickly. I remember using a chamois skin to wash cars with as a kid. They seemed stiff at first and stayed wet til wrung out. The dry towel would be a better bet.
