Amanda B I've heard awesome things about these fins for snorkeling, but the cressi website says they are for scuba too. What do you think? Are these fins okay to use for first time scuba divers like myself?
LACHLAN W I bought these for my wife a few years ago so we'd be able to snorkel together (i would use my scuba fins and she these). However, it turned out they were very well when diving too. In face, she just used them in a cenotes (cave) dive in Mexico a couple days ago. She has used them exclusively for both scuba and snorkeling. She is happy with them. The only add-on i would say is that because they are closed/full foot if you need to walk into the water over rocks it can be uncomfortable. Where as my fins need boots, so i can go anywhere! She has thought about adding a wetsuit sock to make them more snug, but she has small feet so i don't know if that will affect you. Good luck!
CHAD S They work well diving in warm water. They are light and efficient. There is one serious flaw, there so light the start to crack in half from the stress of swimming. They will last a year or two with heavy use at best.
RANDALL B I purchased 10 sets in 2008 for a scuba business and was not impressed by the brittleness of the plastic. For the most part they were a good fin expecially for beginner divers and snorkelers. As a diver you will want to get open healed fins with booties, they make shore diving more comfy and on a boat they help with slipping on t he deck.
Amanda B Thank you :) What size should I buy if I wear size 8 women's shoes?
TIM T I bought a couple pair of these fins. They are great all-around fins. I think the sizes runs a little large.
MICHAEL P Definitely. But only in warm waters...warm enough that you don't need to wear boots.
