Questions about this item:
Shopper Are these fins deconstructable for traveling? If not is there a carrying case designed to carry them?
MARK P no they are one piece and do not brake down.
do not know about carry case.
ANDREW K they are not deconstructable, cases are on the market but they do not come with one
TOM C No
Just use dive bag but fins are l
ERIC S They are not deconstructable for traveling, as the blade is non-removable from the footpocket. You can buy a canvas dive bag for them, which is what I use when traveling.
That being said, they are great fins and have become my primary for both scuba and freediving.
Keith K The fins do not break down for travel. I found myself a long narrow duffle bag, that not only was under the 60 inch limit set by the airlines. I was also able to put my 3mil wetsuit, mask and boots in the duffle with these fins also. I do not remember where I got the duffle, but it was a website I found by searching for duffle bags.
DANIEL C No they are one piece. And I don't know of any specially made bag for them but they are standard freedive size fins. They fit in my speargun bag with my guns and suits just fine.
JOE B NO, these fins do not break down. They do not fit in a normal size duffle, Cressi sells a nice team apnea duffle that I use. Joe
WYN N They are one piece. I just wrap them in a plastic kitchen trash bag and pack them in the bottom of my 36" rolling duffle for air travel. BTW, these fins are fantastic! I sized mine to use with 5mm booties and they're super comfortable, yet no sliding on my feet...so no blisters, ever. I use them for both freediving and SCUBA, and have had several professional dive masters around the world ask me where they could get them, after seeing how they perform for me. Obviously, they're not the best choice for really tight areas, or for hard-bottom shore entries (don't work with stiff soled boots), but for boat diving...fantastic! I used to use the softer LDs which were nice, but I like the stiffer 2000 HF's better, especially in warm water.
RICARDO F No, they are not deconstructable. I carry my fins in my Rife speargun case, along with my speargun. I am not aware of a carrying case; however, I would imagine something of that sort is available for purchase.
JOHN G The Gara's are not "deconstrucable" as the blades are attached to the foot pocket. They are best carried in a Cressi Apnea Team bag, or any other bag that can accomodate 36 inches of length. For the price though, they are well worth the slight inconvenience, delivering excellent acceleration and very little spillage over the edges. They are stiffer than the Gara 3000's and offer significantly more thrust.
Shopper What happens if I lose a fin--is there a way I can replace a single fin, or am I forced to buy a new pair? Thanks for the help.
DANIEL C I lost a fin I only got 1! If you need a xl Ill give it to you for cost of shipping, i don't need one fin! I bought new ones.
KEVIN C U will have to replace the pair.
Frank L They are sold in pairs. Not singles. You would have to purchase a pair.
MARY JANE M I have no idea. I have never lost a fin so I haven't tested that premise. You may want to contact Cressi directly with that one.
MARY C Yikes - I dont know....I have at least a couple of pairs and they are interchangeable. Good luck.
joe p Can this be used for both freediving and scubadiving?
STEPHEN C Yes they can.I use thes fins for scubadiving. These fins are awesome, they really get you moving.
NUNZIO C I have yet to use them, sorry not sure...
DAVID M I have used these fins for tank diving. They are light and accelerate nicely. They are 3 ft long so you have to be cognizant of touching reef with them and they don't pack in a suitcase easily. Over all I love them, but I do own 2 sets of fins (a shorter pair for scuba). But like I said, you can absolutely tank dive with them.
MARY JANE M yes. they work great for SCUBA - I use them when hunting for that extra power boost.
WADE G Yes. The fins are great for both freediving and scubadiving! I highly recommend these fins! All of my dive buddies have either the Cressi Gara 2000 HF or the Cressi Gara 3000 LD fins.
DENNIS K I have used these fins for both activities.
However the length of the normal scuba dive would make their use quite fatiguing since they require more strength to complete a kick cycle.
They are great for free diving where a powerful but limited number of kick cycles are the norm.
Hope this helps
ARSENIO P I USe them for Freedive/SPearfish up to 60ft, Dont Scuba wit them so Cannot Help in that area...Not familiar wiht the required stiffness for scuba.
tony k was wondering how you like the cressi gara 2000 fins. i wear a size 8 and 1/2 shoe. what size should i get to wear snug with dive sock? thanks. tony. k
JOE B Hello Tony, i love these fins, this is my second pair. I used the first ones so much the got brittle in the sun! Not sure on the sizing though, i use mine with a 1mm sock sometimes, but most of the time with bare feet. These fins are very comfortalbe on bare feet, as long as you keep the sand out of them. Joe
Keith K My shoe size runs around 11 to 11.5. I am thinking that the X Large should fit with a 5mm sock. Do you agree? Or should I try a different size?
CHARLES R Size 11-12 should fit you pretty nicely.
MARILYN K I have the same shoe size (11-11.5) but I dive tropical waters without socks. I use the 42-43 size (8-9) and they fit comfortably snug. I hope this helps -John
JOHN G Keith, I wear the 44-45 10/11...I am a 11 1/2 or 12 US shoe size and I wear them for competitive freediving, very rapid and powerful finning in current without a sock or bootie...they fit perfectly...perhaps a little snug...so I would imagine they are going to be fine for you...maybe with a 2/3 mm sock though.
JOHN G I found the Gara 2000's, as well as my 3000's to be nearly true to size...I am a size 11.5 to 12 US and I bought the 44-45 10/11...they are perfectly snug and stay on through very rapid and hard finning. I wear them barefooted, so a 5mm bootie may actually be too thick, maybe a 2-3mm would be better, but my friend who is a 11-11.5 wears my identical set and says they fit fine.
Keith K Sorry, I should have said size 12-13.
Mike M I notice below that folks asking about size fins to buy are told "large," but when ordering the options are 8-9, 10-11, etc. I am a size 9 shoe and would like to wear a 2 or 3 mm bootie. What size should I buy?
Sergie M Mike, what size did you end up buying? I'm also a size 9 i wear 2mm booties and am trying to get the right size.
WALTER C My son originally ordered 8-9 (he is a 10-1/2) and found them too snug. I took the 8-9's (I am an 8-1/2) and they fit great -- we bought my son 10-11 and they fit him a-o-k. Remember -- you will probably need a "sock-like" bootie that will fit in the full-foot so you can walk comfortably from your vehicle to the entry point. Good luck. Walt
RAYMOND K I wear an 11.5 shoe and the 12-13 with a 3mm sock in these fins and its perfect for me.For you I would bet a 10-11 fin size with a 3mm sock would be the best fit.
RICARDO F I have a size 10 shoe size, and also wear a 2 to 3 mm bootie with my Cressi Gara 2000 HF fins. As such, I went with the size 10-11 fin, which fits comfortably, as long as I am wearing bootie. From my vantage point, these fins were a great buy.
JOE H I suggest that you order the larger size. If you have very wide feet you may still have issues.
JAMES M I would go with the 8 to 9. it seams like the socks are accounted for in the sizing. you cannot where booties, they wont fit in the fin. I like a 5mm sock for warmth, and not to be rubbed by the fin.
Shopper I'm trying to decide between the Gara 2000 & 3000 fins. What's the difference?
LeisurePro S The 3000 is made from a less snappy material that is a bit softer. The 3000 will move through the water a little easier, but The 2000 will give greater thrust.
Shopper How long are these fins?
LeisurePro S These fins are approx. 33".
Shopper Hello, I'm a size 10 - 10 1/2 shoe, i want a snug fit but not really, really tight. Which size fin should I order?
LeisurePro S For your shoe size, I would recommend the large.
WYN N I wear the Large and have size 10-1/2 low-volume feet (10-1/2 in New Balance, 9-1/2 in ski boots). They would be too loose barefoot, but after having gone that way with the 3000LDs in size Med, I found that I really needed 5 mm booties for less punishing shore entries and boat ladder climbs, and the Large worked perfectly for me.
Shopper hi , i ordered a 8-9 fin size , i wear size 9 , ill be diving in mexico all the time and the water is preaty warm , did i order the right size? should i wear boots?
LeisurePro S You should be good with the 8-9. Since they are closed heel fins, you could get away without a boot, but wearing even just a diving sock will ensure a snugger fit and prevent rubbing on your heel.
Shopper I am stuck between the Cressi-sub 2000 and the Cressi-sub 3000, I would consider myself beginner/intermediate and was wondering which of the two would you recommend? I am big into free diving/spear fishing.
LeisurePro S The 3000 is made from a less snappy material that is a bit softer. The 3000 will move through the water a little easier, but The 2000 will give greater thrust. If you are doing a lot of free diving I would go with the 2000 since you will get stronger propulsion.
Shopper I am looking to purchase the cressi sub gara 2000. I am a 9 1/2 shoe I prefer not to wear booties unless fishing in cold water. Through the summer I do not wear booties but later in the season I do. What size fin should I order? Thanks.
LeisurePro S A large should work out nicely.

Whats in the box:Pair of Cressi Gara 2000 HF Fins, Black The Gara 2000 HF is the first fin in the world made by combining three different materials, a process that Cressi perfected and patented. This process guarantees unsurpassed performance. The blade is made from a special reactive polypropylene, which is extremely light, and has a blade snap that progressively charges during the fining upward stride to react like a spring at the exact moment the stride is inverted. This development in fin construction gives the diver increased thrust required to keep up with their prey. A soft elastomer foot pocket anatomically wraps around the foot, surrounding it with a comfortable bite that guarantees perfect transmission of the leg-fin thrust. A solid copolymer hardens some critical zones of the foot pocket and extend along the sides of the foot pocket in two lateral stringers that go halfway down the blade, assisted by special raised bands on the bottom of the blade, these stringers function, is to regulate and harmonize the bending of the blade, at the same time protecting it from shocks and abrasions. The fins are extremely lightweight compared to equivalent models of rubber full foot fins. This light- weightiness reduces the inertial masses to the minimum allowing less resistance to acceleration when needed. This gives the full advantage of the effort-efficiency ratio. This fin is designed for deep skin-diving, although Scuba professionals and instructors appreciate its efficiency also. Fins are available in US Sizes 7-8, 8-9, 10-11, or 12-13 (EUR 40-41, 42-43, 44-45 or 46-47) is Black in color and is covered by a 12 month limited warranty.
