Most people who wear these fins, wear them for the wrong reasons. These are free diving fins and proper free diving technique involves long, full, complete kicks using the whole leg and not solely the lower half of the leg. Less frequent but more complete, whole leg, powerful kicks are what free diving fins should be used for.

If you know how to free dive, these are the fins you want. Note that they say for "experienced free divers" in the description. World champion free diver Umberto Pelizzari used a Cressi model similar to these in his 80M world record constant weight free dive back in 2001 (these were not out yet).

I've used these free diving and they are incredible, propelling me to incredible depths at a fast and steady speed. I've also used them in WARM water places like Cozumel where I know there will be strong currents. I swam 70 yards AGAINST a 1-1.5 knot current to catch up to a sea turtle and snap a picture. It came out awesome.

If you find these uncomfortable, you've likely got the wrong size. And as with ANY full foot fin, consider a fin strap, it helps with power and comfort. And if you find that they are breaking over the arch, they are too small, go a size bigger and DEFINITELY use a fin strap to keep your foot stable, transferring more power to the blade.

Comments about Cressi Gara 3000 LD Fins, Grey:

for the price, these are excellent finds for beginning to advanced freedivers. Not as smooth or fluid as carbon fins, but perfect for spearfishing in/around reefs where knicking them up is to be expected. noticed a big change in speed during my ascents. only negative is the fins are a 1/2 size too big. I'd recommend going slightly smaller unless you plan to wear socks with them.

          Great fins
I don't think the material will crack or break which has happened with a buddy's GARA 200HF's.
My feet are 10.5 US sizing and a 3 mil sock fits well in the pocket.

Comments about Cressi Gara 3000 LD Fins, Grey:

These fins are everything that I expected and hoped them to be. Very lightweight for their size, powerful, and it's hard to beat the price. They are sometimes a bit awkward at the surface, but once you go down with them they are in their element. I have large feet, and had to order a size that was smaller than my shoe size and they fit, albeit snugly. Because of this you may want to order a half-size smaller than your shoe.

Great soft fins don't wear you out going in mild current. They are a bit soft but good for shallow dives.
