Questions about this item:
John P How much does it cost to place the battery? i talked to Cressi in New Jersey and they charge $90 + shipping + the amount your authorized dealer will charge, and that all dealers will ship it there. Anybody remember how much they have paid for changing the battery?
David R We can change the battery in the EDY II computer for $24.95 plus the cost of the battery and shipping
Bill P Yes we do (upon request)
Bill P $24.95 + $2.99 for the Battery
John P Battery Replacement, I talked to Cressi Corporate Headquartes in NJ and they say that all battery replacements are done there, that the translation for the "can be done by any watchmaker is wrong". Any one that owns a cressi Edy how do you do to replace the battery and how can you get the O ring?
MIGUEL F Hi John,
I own the excellent Cressi Edy II (actually now the second). Why did have to buy a second? For this very reason. Replacing the battery may seem simple and I attempted it myself on the first one I had after it died. That was a huge mistake. You really do have to be extremely careful. For example, you have the sensor (on left side of watch) which is held in place by a delicate ribbon cable attached to the main/circuit board. Attempting to remove it quickly will likely pull on these parts and break them. In addition, I found that the somewhat standard looking battery clip is quite difficult to pry open to pop out the battery unless you actually remove all internal parts. It is not as simple as any standard watch. I unfortunately learned the hard way, so it is no surprise by what they have said to you. Yes, it is definitely possible to do it yourself quite easily, but you are likely to know enough on how it is all put together inside to successfully replace it yourself. Heck, one particular watch repair shop I go to did not want to take responsibility and would not do it.
I LOVE this computer. It is almost perfect. However, replacing the battery is not only a difficult task, but one I have found it need too quickly after purchase and extended use.

BRIAN H hey john P. my wife and I both have the cressi edy II , we took our computers to our local dive shop to have the batteries replaced. they couldn't replace the batteries in them so they sent ithem to another shop and they couldn't replace the batteries and they sent them off . they said that we have to send our computers back to cressi to have the batteries replaced. go on line and find their address and ship it direct. ours were shipped form one shop to another to another and then to cressi and we were charged for the freight from each place that handled the computers.
good luck
NOAH D For what it's worth, the battery died on me in the first six months. I took it to a watch guy in a shopping mall in Australia and he changed the battery. Nothing fancy; I really don't think there was an o-ring replacement. But he did do a pressure test to ensure a good seal. That was back in 2010 and I've put a hundred more dives on it since then, no problems. Guess you run your own risks.
CLARK N I actually haven't run into this problem yet. But of you do get a good answer, I would love to know...for future reference.
PAMELA O I had to replace the battery once already. Unfortunately I did send it in to Cressi, I did not spend any time investigating doing it myself. Service was fine I got the watch back in about 10 days. Rick O.
John P Hi Pamela, How much did they charge you for replacing the battery?
PAMELA O Sorry it was about 18 months ago and I don't recal
John P Does Cressi Edy II comes with a strap extender? i heard the strap is no good for over 5mm wetsuits.
NOAH D Hi John,
I have the Cressi Edy, the model just before this - though they are basically the same, I've heard. It does have a strap extender; I never figured that out til just now and checked the box it came with. It's like another piece of holed strap with a buckle on the end which you can buckle on to the original strap's holes to make the whole contraption longer. Never used it though, can't say how well it stays on.
HTH
Noah
JAMES W Yes, it comes with a 3 hole extender with a range of 1 1/2" - 2"
making 11 3/8" the max length.
JOHN S I've not tried it over a 5mm wetsuit, but mine came with a strap extender.
LORI W Yes, it does with a strap extender. I have had my Edy for two years and it is great!
GEORGE W It does come with an extender. You must be carefull with the strap though because the hinge pin breaks easily if you snag it on something. I replaced it with an after market one and the watch works great.
HARRY C I don't remember if there was an extender, but the total length of the watch is 11 inches, so unless you put it on your leg, theer is plenty of room for over a 5mm suit!!
Shopper does this computer work in feet as well as meters?
NANCY S Yes, it can be switched from meters to feet if need be.
RYUIJIE D Yes the computer can be programed for standard US measures. The switch is very simple just follow the instructions in the manual. Great
computer.
MICHAEL P Yes. You can change it to imperial measurements or metric measurements. The manual explains how.
ANDREW S This watch does indeed display feet as well as meters. It's an option fairly deep in the menu however. When you find the section in the manual, it walks you through the steps pretty thoroughly. Hope this helps!
JACQUELINE L C Yes, it can be set for either.
NOAH D I only purchased the Cressi Edy I, not the Cressi Edy II. BUT that earlier model computer can be set to either metric (meters, degrees centigrade) or imperial (feet, fahrenheit).
JOHN S Yes it does. Nitrox as well as air. Not a bad computer for the price. It's a bit conservative on it's dive times, though.
DENISE E Yes. It operates in both metric units (meters, Celsius, etc.) and English units (feet, Fahrenheit, etc.)
Shopper Does the watch come with the wireless transmitters or are those sold separately?
LeisurePro S Sorry, unfortunately the Cressi Edy II is not air integrated. Check out the Atom 1.0 here.
Shopper What are the dimensions of this computer?
LeisurePro S Diameter: 51 mm, Thickness: 12mm, Weight: 75 g.
Shopper Is the Cressi Sub Edy PC Download accessory included with Sub Edy II?
LeisurePro S No, PC kit must be purchased separately. You can find it here.
Shopper are batteries user replaceable ?
LeisurePro S Yes, with a small screwdriver.
Shopper I would like to know what's the difference between the Edy and the Edy II. Thanks.
LeisurePro S The only difference between the two computers is a cosmetic one. The Original Edy has a silver bezel while the Edy II has a black one. Other than that, there are no mechanical or operationsl changes between the Edy and Edy II.
Shopper Hey, I was wondering if the watch is suitable for cold dives in canada upto 100 ft? thanks , Chris
LeisurePro S Yes good to 600 ft

The Edy II combines three different types of dive computer programs in one single instrument: 1- scuba diving (air or Nitrox) 2- technical diving (depth gauge and timer to a depth of 660'/200 meters) 3- free diving. Edy II is also an attractive, compact digital wristwatch. It has dual time zones, an alarm function and the display is back lit so can be read even in low light conditions. 1. The SCUBA DIVING COMPUTER mode allows you to choose between the uses of air or a nitrox mix with up to 50%oxygen, with the partial pressure of oxygen gas between 14.5 psi to 23 psi (1.0 to 1.6 bars). Depending on your diving skill level, physical health and age, you can program in a safety factor for either aggressive or conservative dives profiles. Three different safety levels can be set, a maximum depth alarm that can be inserted if and when required, graphic display of nitrogen saturation and central nervous system (CNS) oxygen toxicity, graphic indicator of ascent speed, thermometer and a wide range of audio and visual alarms. A high performance logbook memorizes a large amount of data from the last 30 hours of dives or of the last 60 dives, which can be scrolled through, one by one, at intervals of 30seconds, this integrated Dive Profile function does not require any accessory interface. A handy History function memorizes maximum depth, hours spent in the water and total number of dives performed. 2. In GAUGE mode Edy II is a valuable instrument for those who wish to program the dive using decompression software and perform dives in accordance with dive tables. The functions indicated provide the current and maximum depth, the dive time (including seconds), ascent speed, a temperature, a traditional watch and a handy chronometer (hours, minutes and seconds) to accurately calculate ascent and decompression stops. A depth alarm can also be enabled if and when required. The GAUGE mode also has its own logbook which calculates the average depth of the dive and records the temperature at the maximum depth reached, it also has aProfile function to review the dive at intervals of 30 seconds and an independent History function to record only those dives performed in GAUGE mode. 3. In FREE DIVE (FREE) mode all the needs of the free diver have been taken into consideration, current and maximum depth are provided as well as dive time (minutes and seconds), ascent speed and a depth and/or time alarm can be enabled. On the surface the interval between one dive and the next is indicated (minutes and seconds) along with temperature. This mode also has its own independent Logbook that is able to memorize up to 60 dives, filled with data, each of which can be reviewed with the integrated Profile function at intervals of just one second. The History section memorizes the total number of dives in the day, indicating the deepest dive and its duration. This daily memory can be reset at any time. The 3 Volt CR2032 battery of the Edy II can be quickly replaced by any watchmaker. The battery has an approximate battery life of two years at 50 dives per year, An accessory interface is available to download all the data recorded and transfer it to a PC, thus allowing the user to access many more functions (not available for Windows Vista). The Edy II uses the Buhlmann ZH-LB algorithm, redesigned by Randy Bohrer. It uses a 12 tissue model with tissue half-times from 5 to 640 minutes. The computer is calibrated for salt water, has a measuring range of 0' to 328' (0 to99.9 meters) in computer mode and 0' to 656' (0 to 199.9 meters) in gauge mode, and has a maximum surface time calculation of 48 hours. If altitude diving is a concern, the computer will properly adjust from 0' to 19,685'(0 to 6,000 meters). The computer can also be used in either imperial units (feet/degrees Fahrenheit) or metric units (meters/ degrees Celsius). Product Videos:
