Questions about this item:
Shopper if the weight pocket is lost, can it be replaced? which are the replacement?
how many D Rings are there and can I add on more D Rings at the shoulder area?
RONALD V I am sure Cressi makes replacement pockets. If you're concerned about wear on the pockets, you might want to consider using soft weights. Easier on the fabric and more comfortable for you.
I count 5 D-rings, although I guess the two on the ends of the shoulder straps could be utilized. There is also a nice pocket on the right side of the vest at the waist which can be utilized.
don't see how you would add D-rings to the shoulder area, so I'll say no.
Donna G Yes, to the weight pocket. Already happened. Cost about$25. 6 D rings. Not sure if you could add any.
JAVIER S Sorry, I don't know. I returned the item immediately upon arrival due to low quality and craftsmanship
Shopper Does the oceanic air x2 alternate fit on this bcd?
DARRYL H Probably, yes, but I'd suggest calling LeisurePro and having them check the sizes for you, first-hand.
Jack W Hi , would like to get some help on size. I'm 5'11, 168lbs , 40-42 chest , which size should I get for this particular bcd? Med or large? Thanks for helping .
KURT L I cant help with chest size, but I am 5'11" and 190lbs in Hawaii as I type this happily diving with a medium. I would think a large is going to be too big for you.
Mike
JASON M I would go with the medium. I am 6ft 3inches 205lbs and I went with the xl and it is almost too big
GUY M Jack;
I have a 44 inch chest and after trying on both in the showroom in NY I purchased the Med . You will be thrilled with the BCD I use it in the pool and travel . Fits great and plenty of features for such a light BCD. My normal Tec BCD was killing me with airline weight problems.
Hope this helps happy diving;
Guy
GINO V I would get the large I'm 6'1" 210 and I have the xlarge
PHILLIP L C I would error on the side of too large - so I would probably opt for the Large. That is purely a guess. Since it is a back inflation - you wouldn't want to be on the small side of what is needed.
HENRY G I am 5'6", 165 lb with a 44" chest and a medium worked perfect.
Shopper What is the size of the hose?? 1" or 3/8" ??
Is it work with Mares reulators??
JON R Yes... that's the exact setup I'm using actually. On a related note, check the hose lengths on the Mares regulators as I've found the primary and the HP line for the air gauge a bit shorter than I'd have liked.
JACK S Not sure of the exact size, but connected it to a Mares Abyss regulator with no problem
STEVEN E The hose is the typical 3/8 that, inflates the BCD,it should hook to the octopus no problem
ROBERT S 3/8's and it will work with Mares regulator's
Shopper Is this Air2 compatible?
RYAN S Yes it is but it depends on the supplier. I know scuba pro isn't compatible but atomic is
Neil G I know most back-inflate BCDs have rear trim pockets, but this one doesn't. Is it comfortable on the surface? Can you keep your head up in choppy water? Thanks!
ROBERT S I've logged 22 dives so far on my Air Travel BCD. I haven't had any problems keeping my head up in choppy water. I do have to lean back a little to compensate on the surface but Its nothing that I've had concern myself with. I weigh about 195 lbs and this BCD has performed great regarding its surface buoyancy.
JAVIER S I returned this BCD when I first got it, without trying it, as it seemed flimsy and of poor craftsmanship. I bought an Aqualung Balance instead (has trim pockets) and have no issues keeping my head up. I make it a bit rear-heavy on purpose.
BARRY H Neil, I have dove it and found it to be a very comfortable in fit and function. Mostly my students use this particular vest and we practice various rescue techniques. They are able to keep the divers head above the surface, when inflated. Hope that helps. I am a NAUI instructor and a retired Navy Diver. My bottom time goes into months, not days. All the best to you and yours and please stay safe under the waves.
CHRISTOPHER M The Cressi Air Travel BCD is very comfortable and stable in all conditions. So long as you have the right size and wear it down snug over your shoulders, you should have nothing but a good time diving. It will be one of the first things you will forget you're wearing when you enter the water. It will become as much a natural part of your day as breathing.
KATHRYN P I had no problem with this BCD. I wore it on 12 dives in Jamaica in December. I was able to keep my head up even though the water was sometimes fairly chppy. Kathy P
PHILLIP L C I would say that overall its not as easy to stay comfortable on the surface in choppy water as a vest type. I have used in on some fairly choppy days and haven't really had any problems - but since it is a back inflate you definitely have to use it a little different by laying back onto it after surfacing. By laying back onto it - I have had no problems and never really felt uncomfortable in rough seas. So- bottom line - it hasn't been a problem for me.
Jerry S Can you please tell me what the size M dry weight of this unit is?
JAVIER S Sorry I don't know. My friend and I bought this BCD and promptly returned it due to low quality. Weight pouches are almost impossible to pull off and the whole unit seems flimsy. As a side note, I got a cressi regulator too and I'm not too excited about it either.
Shopper Does this product run big? Im 210 lbs with chest size 46 and waist 38. 5-10 in height. I am very muscular and Tring to find the right size.
SPENCER S Most people say it runs big but i got it and it fits me good. I also workout alot an i'm sorta big for my weight and size.
Shopper Dose it have a rear dump valve?
GARY M Yes it does have a rear dump. I have used this BC in the Caribbean on multiple dives. If you like having a light weoght BC it is a perfect option for air travel.
One reccommendation, use a rash guard or wet suit for longer dives
PHILLIP L C Yes. It has a rear dump valve and all dump valves have well designed cords that come to the front and are convenient to reach.
DERREK D Hi! Yes it has a rear dump valve over the right shoulder and a lower dump valve on the bottom right
Shopper Does this BCD have any kind of extra pockets?
LeisurePro S There is one large accessory pocket and but no trim weight pockets.
Shopper Is this the same as the Back Jac BCD?
LeisurePro S No, the Back Jac is a different BCD, which you can find here. The Air Travel is much lighter, but doesn't have as many features as the Back Jac, although both are rear inflated.
