This lift bag is well constructed of heavy material. The opening is reinforced with a stiff ring of material that holds the bag open for easy filling from a regulator. The purge valve is located on the top and is actuated by a pull string at the bottom of the bag. This allows one to hold on to the bottom of the bag and release air to control the rate of ascent. I also have a Carter 75# bag which is made of lighter material and rolls up very compactly to fit in a pocket. In fact it rolls up smaller than the 50# lift bag it replaced. The 75# came with the same purge valve and actuating line to the bottom of the bag. I carry the 75# bag to lift small stuff immediately. I also carry a Pelican Marker Bouy to mark the location of larger items so I can come back with the 100# bag if necessary. Since I can't lift more that 175# into my boat anything heavier stays on the bottom.

The 50lb lift bag has a dump valve operated by an internal pull cord that extends below the opening of the bag. It is a great size for training divers in lift bag use. Folds up to a compact size to carry on every dive for incidental salvage.

As far as light duty (20-75 lbs) lift bags are concerned, this is the best I have found. Don't let the product description and picture throw you off, this bag does come with a dump valve and the cord does runs along the inside of the bag. It also has a handle for manual dumping (something I don't see on other bags) and is very easy to roll up and stow.
I have purchase lift bags from Subsalve, OMS and XS Scuba, and this is the only one I take with me on recovery dives!
