Questions about this item:
Shopper Bought this watch as a scuba dive watch. In reading the manual, it says it is not rated for scuba diving. Can this watch be used as a scuba dive watch?
ANTHONY D Hi,
Casio's tech specs rates it as water resistant to 200 meters. The following usage recommendations are suggested by most watch manufacturers:
Water-resistant (without any depth specification). Shoud be considered only splash resistant. Not recommended for any water activity.
Water-resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). Will withstand splashes of water or rain but should not be worn while swimming or diving.
Water-resistent to 50 meters (165 feet). Suitable for light water activities or swimming in shallow water.
Water-resistent to 100 meters (330 feet). Suitable for swimming and snorkeling.
Water-resistent to 150 meters (500 feet). Suitable for snorkeling.
Water-resistent to 200 meters (660 feet). Suitable for skin diving.
Diver's 150 meters (500 feet). Meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving.
Diver's 200 meters (660 feet). Meets ISO standards and is suitable for scuba diving. Basically, it says appropriate for skin diving but does not meet ISO standards for scuba diving.
I have owned this watch for about 3 years and love it. It keeps perfect time, even when traveling in Europe, and hasn't had a problem. I've used it for snorkeling (I don't scuba dive). Hope that helps.
TIM K hard to read underwater. would choose another for diving.
DEWEY R I used this watch about a week ago in LIttle Cayman for scuba diving. Most of my divers were between 90-70 ft. and an occasionally dive to 110 ft. The watch performed very well and no problems were encountered. I really like the atomic clock synchonized with the analog minute/hour hands.
DANIEL P This watch is water resistant but not suitable for diving.
