I used in a cavern in Mexico where there was minimal light. Beam was weak compared to other divers torch lights by a wide margin. Even compared to lights with similar level of lumens. When used in wrist strap light moved around a lot. Was awkward to turn on while in wrist strap because the whole thing wanted to twist.

The Big Blue is a good light for the money. It has a focused beam LED lamp that it pretty bright. Its got a glove mount that goes above the knuckes which leaves your hands free. I don't think the AAA batteries will last too long so keep extras in your dive kit. Takes three.

I bought this light mainly because of the Goodman glove you can get for it (hands free). The wide angle is kind of useless underwater, but is a nice feature above water.

Great light.

Very compact and very bright.
Took this as a backup on a night dive, only to find it was twice as bright as my primary!

Focusable beam is a great feature - It's versatile for wide beam or pinpointing.

As with most non-professional units, this does not provide significant illumination for peering under little ledges during the daytime, but it's great when it is dark.

I like the hand holster idea as well, but this needs improvement. It's great to have your hand free, but the light is not secured well enough in the holster to be able to adjust the beam focus with the other hand alone (the light rotates in the holster).

I love this light! I have used it many times and the focus works perfectly both above and below water. I believe there was an earlier version that my buddy had that did not focus well underwater. But this is a GREAT light! I particularly love the neoprene pouch that has a retractor cord that attached to the light, that way i know i won't drop it. And it can stay inside the pouch when I don't use it!
