As an addition to a watch that has built in thermometer in it. Not as affected by body heat as is the watch. In the water the little thermometer is even better!

I recently purchased this thermometer and put it on a watch band, and have been a mix of impressed and pleased, this is not a Chinese knockoff, this is a very good product. it is not bulky at all and would not hesitate to recommend this to anyone, the only con I can think of is that you have to play guess the temperature with in 5 degrees, point being that for normal everyday joe applications, its perfect. if your a scientist and need your temperature reading to be exact, go with something else, how ever for either a back up or basic primary thermometer go with this product
