As a beginer these weight keepers allow me to position my weights were I want them and use the equipment as needed without trouble.
Specifically I wanted to avoid losing a weight when I'm putting on or taking off my weight belt and it works well.
Also LesisurePro effectively tossed them into the box of other equipment I ordered without addition stand alone costs.

Solid enough, but use it for lighter duty... it is plastic afterall. It's a bit bulkier than the metal ones too, which may or may not be what you want for all applications.
