James B I listened to the audio files in the product description. They sounded about the same loudness, is one of them distinctly louder underwater??
SAMUEL B The rattle with the single ball is a little louder, but not a lot, and its great to have distinct sounds if there is more than 1 diver on the team that carries one. I'm happy with mine, the only drawback is the weight if you are flying with your gear, given the airline's overweight bag fees.
STEFAN S No they all sound the same. The only difference is the paint color.
STEVEN D No,just a differnt sound.
WANDA M I have the one that rattles and got my husband the one that clanks. I think the rattle is easier to hear under water.
LEN M I chose the clank because I felt it was louder. The rattle clearly has a softer tone.
My wife can easily hear the clank unit and know it is my noisemaker. A lot of divers tend to use noisemakers that sound alike and I wanted one that was unique.
Hope that helps.
NANCY W James,
I don't think it matters much; they do sound about the same. I have the rattle and it works well. It's great to get someone's attention when you want to show them something and it's a nice saftey feature to have as well.
KIRSTIN B My husband has the clank and I have the rattle. Both work equally well when shaken. The clank takes less effort to make noise which is good when you want to make noise but annoying sometimes in your duffle. Overall we are both very pleased with the rattle and the clank.
JAMES G Hi, this is Jim.... I don't think that anyone is louder but they do have different sounds/tones which may sound louder depending on your hearing...
BONY C LISTENING IS PERFECT AND STRONG I recommend it
RAY A I have the neon green/yellow and red/orange. They are the same noise and same sound level. I have had mine since 2008, doubt they have changed them. It sounds like washers jingling in a jar. One sounds just like the other.
SANDRA T James, I think the one withe multiple smaller pellets is more audible underwater. It may be that the pitch is a bit higher. Good luck! I love my H2Y0, by the way. :-)
