Questions about this item:
Shopper Why Did You Choose This?
DOUGLAS L As an avid PADI Master Diver; most dive charters are now requiring both DAP and Safety Sausage--
BRENDA H We wanted the above water and under water signal device and it was compatable with my B.C.
JAMES S Returned this item a/c the overall length was too great when attached to the LP inflater.
RICHARD A Proven reliable design and minimal profile underwater. BUT, you must blow out this and any other underwater audio signal devices after use in salt water to keep it in good working order.
DREW M Very good above or below water. If your buddy is wearing a hood it can be difficult to hear if they are more than a few feet away. Overall I would suggest this to others.
RICHARD B My wife wanted to get my attention!
TRAVIS K Sold this on ebay after I realized I didn't really need it and that its very bulky. Waste of money in my opinion.
JOHN D For its above & below the surface abiility
OSCAR L You are exposed to stray; in fact it happened to me several times. It is a great help
MIKE C Combined surface and underwater alert has a smaller lentgh and does not create as much interference with the BCD LP Inlfator hose as the two separate but combined alerts.
Paula A How loud is the underwater signalling device? We do survey dives where we can be up to 15m apart; right now we use the Scub Alert, which is sufficient for that distance and then attach a separate Dive Alert for above water, but that's too bulky so we wanted something more streamlined. But it needs to be loud enough underwater.-
IVAN G Sorry for the delay but I was on vacationes.
This device works very good and the soun is very strong for me, and definitely is one of the best I ever used, you wont be dissapointed
PETE M It's load enough but you have to let others know what sounds like when you start diving because most people won't know the the sound is, their are use to tank bangers and it takes time for them to respond.
KURT W I've used this at distances of 20-25 feet without a problem hearing it. However, have not have the opportunity to need to use it for longer distances. Seems like I should test at longer distances next time I'm diving.
DAYTON R Sadly, it's not that loud. We have difficulty hearing it beyond 5m.
CHRISTI J I think its pretty loud but I'm never that far from my dive buddy. If u already have the dive alert I would suggest just trying it and see. Sorry I wasn't more help.
Christi
JASON S Hi,
If people are in tune and know to listen for the sound it can easily be heard 5-10 meters away, likely up to 20 meters. It is about half the volume of a tank bang with a knife. Sounds like a duck quack. Above water its super load and can be heard on a boat a half mile away with its diesel engines running.
Hope this helps.
Aloha
HAEWON G This unit sound identical to the Scub Alert - easily heard at 15m.
JEROME D It's just as good underwater as the one you have now.
Christine P I have a Zeagle Zena BCD with Flathead 6 reg and Octo ZX. Am I correct in thinking I need model #3?
Monica s Yes you are correct, for the Zeagle OctoZ you need model 3.
Shopper Let me rephrase... I have an aqualung Zuma BCD. Which model of the dive alert plus will suit this BCD?
PAUL S I do not know exactly what the fitting on you Zuma BCD is. Ask at your dive shop. Generally, if you use the Dive Alert Plus in-line with your BCD power inflator, get the unit that is compatible with the in-line connector to your power inflator. If you use the unit in-line with both an in-line alternate air regulator and BCD power inflator , make sure the unit is compatible with both the power inflator and in-line air regulator. Check with your dive shop to verify the type of connectors are on your BCD. Dive Alert has 2 or 3 different connections on the unit. If you will use the unit on a dedicated hose directly from your primary regulator, the unit must be compatible with the connector on the hose. While not ideal, you can buy quick disconnectors that will interconnect different disconnect fittings.
BURTON R Hello, My Dive-Alert Plus is for a ScubaPro hose, because Scubapro has a unique wider diameter attachment fitting. My BCD is ScubaPro. Therefore you shoudn't order my type, but the other Model. If for some reason it doesnt fit, you can always send it back. Before the Dive-Alert Plus was developed, I had to use 2 of the old style, Dive-Alerts, ie, one for above & one for below water. The Plus, in one unit combined is wonderful & I wouldn't go in the water without it. I also have the new Dan Safetysausage kit & just purchased my second Spare Air, as my first one, although still working, to me wasn't worth the possibility of mal functioning. I am 77 years old & feel that investment in diving safety is an absoulute neccesity.
Hope the above helps! Burt
Shopper which model suits aqualung zuma?
BRIAN A I'm not sure I understand your question.
Charles K I have a i3 Dimension Aqualung BCD with a lever instead of a hose and button that inflates and deflates the BCD. Will this work with this BCD?
DENNIS I I don't know but this attaches to the low pressure hose connections on the female side and reattaches (normally) to the inflator
CHARLES S i dont think this will work with your bcd,but check with a leisure pro expert
MITCHELL D i believe your system is intragrted & hose's enecessable but with a little work you can set up a alturnitive high presure hose on your first stage. ask your local dive shop for help if you dont mind the extra work . this horn has one hang up. as you clear the water & try to use it for surface recall or emergency call . it is muffuled till all water in it is cleared . be bleesed & dive safley.
Dimitri K I have Cressi Flex BCD. What size do I need?
RON B My guess is that your BC would use model DP1 but your are best to check with Dive Alert.

RICHARD W Dive Alert Plus 1 which is a standard conection
DOMINIC P Like it and it gives me a little extra peace of mind when I dive!
Shopper I'm trying to decide what to get. Why did you pick this one?
GARRY K I previously had a dive alert (above water only) for many years. I got sand in the values and needed a new one. I decided to try the underwater signaling device as well as the above water signaling. However, I have found that I generally use a tank banger instead for underwater signaling.
NICK W Spent a dive testing this just to see how good it works. Started with a surface test and it is very loud. Boat will not have any trouble hearing you from a distance. In the underwater mode it works best in burst as it seems to use a lot of air if used holding the button. It?s a bit larger than a single horn but does not get in the way. My whole family has one and gives me a peace of mind. Remember this is no substitute for a whistle as it does not work if you tank is empty.
GUILLERMO R I liked it because it works underwater and above water. Almost never use it underwater. In retrospect I could have the AIR only and be as happy as I'm now. The AIR only is a bit smaller, I like both. Horse a piece.
JOHN D It's the only one that works both above & below the surface via a simple dial.
THOMAS F I chose this model because it fit the majority of BC's that I use. This version also had the ability to signal above and below the water. I have used it on two dives in Belize and it works well. I would recommend going over its operation pre-dive with yourself and your buddy.

anas m I have Zeagle Ranger BCD which model of dive alert plus is fit for my BCD?
DON H Dive alert has to match inflator hose connection. I have a Tusa air 2 instead of octo. My dive alert matches Tusa air 2. Ranger bcd have different inflator hoses fittings according to when they were manufactured.
CHARLES J We purchased the DP1 for use on our Zeagle Rangers and have had no problem. Please be careful with the air horn above the wateras it is very loud.
ROBERT C I added a Zeagle Octo-Z Alternate Air Source so I use a DP3X Dive Alert Plus. If you use the conventional inflator I beleive you'll need to use the DP2X.
Shopper Hi there, Actually I had my sequest latitude which bought from you before. I'm not sure the inflator attached is factory standard or not. Just want double check which model DA plus can fit? Thanks
David R If you do not have a built in Octopus on the power inflator , then it's the #1 model otherwise the #2 model.
RICHARD S Can't comment about which models the da fits or even if your inflator is a standard fitting. However I have had mine on both a cressi and oceanic probe bc and it has worked flawlessly.
AALLEN I what will fit the tusa BCJ 7000 BCD? TY
JOHN D It depends on what kind of power inflator you have on your BC.
If it's a standard size power inflator, then order the standard size.
If it's an Air II (Scubapro) or an Atomic, then order the larger size.
Odd Leisure Pro couldn't answer this.
PATRICK M The Dive alert plus will fit any BC with a low pressure inflation hose. But it does add approximately 4 inches of excess hose. I use these on all my dives. Keep in mind that 4" can be caught when diving tight areas such as swim-throughs and wreck diving.
JASON S SOrry I have a Mares Bcd so I wouldn't know.
FRANK Y The standatd dive alert plus shoud fit any BDC low pressure inflator except:
One fitted with a ScubaPro alternate airsource or some Halcyon and Apex low pressure inflators (which seem to have just a fraction of a millimeter too much chrome plating for a fit).
I believe there is anothe model of the Dive Alert Plus that fits the ScubaPro connecvtion.
Having said all of that, in my personal experience, the underwater part of this signaling device performs anemically when new and soon fails alltogether.
MICHAEL R This should fit if you want to use it on your lower pressure inflator hose.
Shopper I HAVE THE O M S BACK INFLATE WHICH MODEL WILL FIT THIS B C D. ?
RAY S I believe the D.A. 1 will fit your BCD. The D.A. 2&3 both give specific brands for which they are fitted. As an instructor, I have ordered many things from Leisure Pro. It has been my experience that in case the D.A.1 doesn't fit the OMS connecter, Leisure Pro will exchange it as long as you don't use it and return it in the original packaging. Hope this is helpful and not too late getting to you. Excellent product though 2 thumbs up :)
JAMES B The real quesiton is what type of LP inflator is on your BCD (if you have a after market combination Octopus/LP Inflator); I have a Sherwood Avid with SHerwood's standard inflator, which teh Divealert #1 fit; unfortuantley I do not know you what fits the OMS, probably best off checking with Dive Alert.
MICHAEL K Hi,
Because there are 3 models you will probably have to go to product website to check or find the chart for proper models.
M
JOHN D Unless the power inflator on this person's OMS is an Air II, naturally the standard Dive Alert Plus would fit it. You guys should know this.
John
Shopper Which model will fit on Oceanic Hera BCD and on Oceanic Probe LX, both without Air XS alternate inflation regulator systems?
DANNY C I'm do not know about those BCD's. Sorry
RICHARD A This is a great product which works well underwater, too! I use it often as an Open Water Scuba Instructor as well as with friends. Make sure you get the one that fits your own inflator hose's disconnect!
Shopper Will this fit Hollis ats?
LeisurePro S Yes, you will need the DA Plus 1.
Shopper Which model will fit on a Zeagle?

DiveAlertPlus is a specially designed, small, light weight air horn that uses quick-connect/disconnect hose couplings to become an integrated part of your power inflator, breathable/inflator and buoyancy compensator. Installation is easy and only takes a moment. DiveAlert Plus does not require any modification of your other equipment, and it does not interfere with the normal operation of your other equipment. DiveAlert Plus enables divers to signal both above and below the water's surface. There are three different models available; one for approximately 85% of standard power inflator mechanisms model DP1. There are several breathable/inflator mechanisms that require a larger coupling for a higher flow of air so there are two models to accommodate them. The model DP2X and the modelDP3X (see list below). Why have DiveAlert Plus? What would you do in a diving emergency if you needed to get the attention of the pick-up boat or someone else on the water's surface? Before DiveAlert Plus SCUBA divers had relied on whistles or a SMB (surface marker buoy) as their only signaling devices in such an emergency. But if the diver is disabled and can't blow into a whistle (or deploy the SMB) the whistle makes no sound at all. Or if the boat operator is not looking in the direction of a diver with a SMB deployed (if the diver was able to even deploy the SMB) the diver goes un-noticed. Or, what would you do if you wanted the attention of your dive buddy, for whatever reason, and he was simply distracted and not paying attention to you at that very moment? Traditionally, you would be forced to swim up to him or her until you got their attention. In contrast, DiveAlert PLUS enables divers at the mere touch of a button to generate a loud blast of sound on the surface that can be heard up to a mile away! Or, by switching the DiveAlert PLUS diverter valve for subsurface signaling the diver can now signal for his dive buddy's attention underwater! When you need to get someone's attention on the water's surface, you simply select "AIR" operation with your diverter valve, press the button and DiveAlert PLUS uses a small amount of air from your SCUBA tank to make a piercingly loud sound. Or, when you want to get someone's attention under the water's surface, you simply select "H2O" operation with your diverter valve, press the button andDiveAlert PLUS uses a small amount of air from your SCUBA tank to make a percussion noise to alert your dive buddy. DP1 DiveAlertPlus - Standard model compatible with 85% of all power inflators. DP2X DiveAlertPlus compatible with SeaQuest's AirSource, APEKS System's Zeagle Octo Plus, Beuchat Venturi, Oceanic's Air XS alternate inflation regulator systems, and Mares AirControl . DP3X DiveAlertPlus compatible with ScubaPro A.I.R. 2, Zeagle OctoZ, Sherwood Gemini, Tusa Duo-Air and Atomic SS1 alternate inflation regulator systems.
