j a i find when i use defog, after a few dives the lenses float around in my mask and fall off when I clear my mask. am I doing something wrong?
JOHN R I had similar problems with the lense. To improve its stick, I really let it dry before gettingthe mask wet. I've even used a hair dryer at a distance to get all teh moisture out. I have one eye lense that never comes out and one that is a bit of a challenge anyway. Good luck.
MICHAEL W I used to use the diveoptx but they just kept falling out. I did some research and found a glue at home depot that worked on glass plastic and what ever the diveoptx are made out of and used that they lasted about 10 months before they fell out again. I bought another set and this time they lasted about 6 months. I finally broke and sent my mask to a company in California and had glass readers glued in. I love em and there on to stay.
SETH W The lenses should not come off so easily. Try to re-attach them following the instructions, very important to clean mask interior first, and make sure to wait a day after you affix the lenses using film of water. Really let them dry. I have had some stay on indefinitely.
MERRY S I only use baby shampoo as a defogger and have had no proble
ms
RICH H I think maybe you are using too much defog, as I have never had a problem with my magnifiers and have even transferred them to a new mask.
LARRY D You are using to much defog, one application should last atleast 3 dives. That being said this is what I would do. First remove the magnifiers and clean the inside of the mask with toothpaste and a tooth brush, work all the areas for at leasst 10 minutes. Rinse well a install the magnifiers following the directions. The next dive use a good defog. There are two I use Sea Gold gel is my favorite, one application and no fog all day. A lot cheaper is Johnson Baby shampoo, two drops rub in and rinse. Sometimes I put a cap full in a spray bottle and keep it on my boat if I have company. Both work well but I do perfer the gold because it is a gel & adhears well.
I dive So. California and our water temp is in the 60's so fog is always a concern. Hope this Helps & Good Diving.
DAVE S My wife and I both use the DiveOptx and found that if you have too much water in your mask when you apply them, they do not stick well. Try wiping out most of the water and just leave the mask damp when you apply them. Since we did that, they have stayed in place. We have used both antifog and good ole spit since without problems. Good luck!
MICHAEL B As long as you follow the instructions, you shouldn't be having this problem. Since I installed mine, I have only had to re-install once, and that was for a thourough cleaning. Crucial steps are making sure the mask is absolutely clean prior to installing, proper placement, and dry time (24 hrs). If you are completeing the istall properly and you are still having problems, you may want to contact the manufaturer for help.
Without them I would have to have special lenses put in my mask to be able to use my camera underwater. They have been a good product for me, and I would highly recommend them.
