Comments about Akona 5 mm Deluxe Gloves (AKNG158):

I go through a lot of gloves doing commercial work that involves using hacksaws and tools in zero vis. Sometimes only get a couple of dives before cutting off finger tips of left hand with hacksaw. I ordered Akona XL and XXL plus Blue Reef XL to do my own comparisons.I have large hads (but not "beefy") and long fingers.
I couldn't even get into Aknoa XL. They are what I might call a men's medium at best.
The Akona XXL and Blue Reef XL are exactly same size but Blue Reef has longer thumb to finger tip lenght for longer hands.
Blue Reef seems to have better stitching pattern and might hold up longer. Akona has better wrist seal strap but I just cut them off before first dive anyway.
I will likely buy neither again. I would suggest that, for easy removal with cold fingers and dependable sizing, you should stick with a gauntlet style glove like those made for Aqua Lung.

Once I get the gloves on, they are very warm. However, getting them on is a struggle!! The gloves feel great and fit comfortably once on, but are nearly impossible to get on.
