NEAL R G The best way to start in buying full foot fins is to read the LEISUREPRO discussion in the SCUBA FINS BUYING GUIDE page on their website. Just use their search function to find it.
Your size 5 foot translates from the American measurements into 35 in the European measurement system. Check the size of the fin on the description page and match your American measurement and/or your European measurement. Always check the bottom of the fin and you will see the size usually displayed right in the rubber material. Be careful not to get a size too tight or too small as this will quickly become very annoying and cause stress and fatigue, which is unnecessary and avoidable. If you are in doubt, such as when the fin is overlap sized 4-5 or 5-6, go with the larger and by all means use a fin sock [also available from LEISUREPRO] to avoid blisters from rubbing. You can also use a plain cotton low-top sock under the nylon/polyester fin sock to take up excess room if necessary, but it should not be necessary. This will provide not only the most comfortable set up, but will give you the most efficient diving experience as it contributes to comfort and ease while under.
Finally, I really like these fins as they are lightweight, designed for very efficient propulsion, pack easily, put on and take off easily, and all around are a very good bargain. Thanks.

Marilyn S Sizing is mens. A size 5 womens is a size 3 mens.
