LeisurePro S I would recommend four locks if you want to lock both of the fin pockets. If not, two should be fine.

Shopper I am looking for a bag with wheels that will fit my large Master Frog Fins (approx 29" by 9.5"). How large of a fin can the Akona Roller Backpack fit? What else would you recommend?

LeisurePro S This bag should fit the master frog fins just fine, I cannot think of any bag with larger fin compartments than this bag.

Shopper Can you get the size of the bag through check in with Continental Airline? Their size limet is 62 L inches this one is 66 inches

LeisurePro S The dimensions of this bag depend largely on how it is packed and how full it is. If the bag is not completely stuffed it should fall within the check in size limits as long as it is under the 50 Lb weight limit. Remember if you remove the regulator bag from it that is usually enough to slim it down, and it is highly recomended to carry that on so the airline doesn't destroy it. On a personal note, I have taken this bag all over the world and never had a problem taking it with me as long as it was under the weight limit.

This is AKONA's most versatile and popular bag. The standard by which all other bags are judged, because of its heavy-duty wheels and dual pull #10 Delrin zipper around the main compartment opening with heavy-duty bronze corrosion resistant sliders. Its features boast of an extension handle that locks into both 10" and 17" (25.4 and 43.2 cm) positions for easy maneuvering in all conditions, with zippered closure. The main compartment of the bag has reinforced panels on back and bottom, along with side, front and top padding for added protection. A mesh sleeve that can be used to hold the included water bottle, or sunscreen, lotion, bug spray, etc..

Embroidered AKONA Padded top and side handles reinforced with box-stitching for increased durability for comfort in carrying, side fin pockets with built-in drainage panels and silent shock-absorbing skate wheels that are impervious to salt, sand, dust, dirt and will not rust like metal roller bearings. When maneuvering through a busy terminal or down a boat dock becomes difficult just unzip the hidden padded shoulder straps and sling it on your back for those tight or rough rolling situation A regulator pocket with padded regulator bag; interior straps to keep load secure and prevent shifting; and a padded accessory pocket with key clip.

Bag measures 31" x 21" x 14" (78.7 x 53.3 x 35.6 cm) has 9,114 cubic inches (150 liters) of volume, and weighs 15 lbs (6.8 kg). Regulator Bag measures 13" x 13" x 3.5" (33 x 33 x 8.9 cm) with 432 cubic inches (7.0 liters) of volume. Bag is constructed with 600D poly-natural fiber blend with polyurethane interior coating. This material is incredibly durable, water and stain resistant. Regulator Bag is made from 600D (denier). Backpack Roller Bag also includes a security sleeve that allows use of the telescoping handle and wheels and a luggage tag. Both the Roller Backpack and Regulator Bag are covered by a 24 month limited warranty.

I use the bag to transport gear to the resorts, but too big for a boat, it is tough, BUT the first use the plane crew busted part of the zipper (still using it tough).

I have been diving for 12+ years and done lots of boat trips and travel trips. I have always been amazed how long the bags I have owned in the past lasted but I decided it was time for a new bag so I decided to try Akona (same parent company as Sherwood).

While the design is fine the material is the really bad. Looks good until you take your first trip. For some reason this material is VERY prone to split and cut rather than get some light abrasion. I predict this bag will fall apart in 1-2 years of light dive travel, which I find unacceptable which is why I give it only 1 start.

Stay way bag is made of POOR material!

The backpack allows us to travel with all of our scuba gear and add in clothes as well.
Another good use is to transport our backpacking equipment easily. The extra storage spaces allow us access to needed items quickly.

Traveling down to Belize from GP Ab I never had an issue with any of the big airlines even tho I was on a smaller plane Dash 8 no problem at checking in at all. It fits all my gear plus my clothing and I'm not a small boy at 6ft4in.

I bought two of these and have had them for 4-6 years. After a couple of years the wheels and telescoping handle rusted out. The materials where the zippers are attached will start to fray and eventually tear. Now, I only use the second one carry my equipment when I travel overseas. I try not to expose it to salt water directly, as I expect more rusting. I would only buy this product to carry dive gear overseas, when it doesn't have to be exposed directly to salt water.

This bag was large enough to fit my and my husband's dive gear. (Two of everything except the regulator.) We are estimating it at about 55 pounds right now - we'll see for sure when we get to the airport next month. The bag being over the airline weight might be the only problem - but that is an airline issue, not a bag issue.

We used this bag to travel to Mexico for a recent dive trip. As mentioned before it will hold two sets of gear. BCD,masks,fins,2mm shorty,iso-fleece,save a dive kit,flashlights,various accessories, and even one small safe box for hotel. We always carry-on our regulators. Great rollers able to handle the 60lbs. (Continental has weight waiver for Scuba Equipment). Could have down-weighted to 50# if needed! Excellent bag and will use for many years! Very durable! Could not find any flaws!
