Questions about this item:
Shopper What is gauge mode?
LeisurePro S You can use gauge mode for decompression dives, dives with gas mixes not supported by the computer, or any dive where you have to do your own calculations. Here is a whole forum on gauge mode.
Shopper Can you dive at night with it? Does it light up at all?
LeisurePro S Sorry, the XR-1 has no backlight/glow in the dark feature. Aeris' new version, the XR-2, does have a backlight.
Shopper I have an XS scuba console, will this fit in?
LeisurePro S The XR1 measures 2" in diameter and 1" in height.
Shopper I need to replace the battery. How many batteries does it have? Is it a hard thing to do?
LeisurePro S So sorry about the delay. The battery (a CR2450 lithium battery, similar to a watch battery) on the XR-1 is easy to replace, requiring just a few simple tools to open the battery hatch and pop the old battery out.
Shopper What does decompression capability mean. Does it mean it wont work if you go to 80 ft?
LeisurePro S No. The computer will continue to function well below 80 feet. All "decompression capability" means is that the computer isn't able to calculate decompression stops lower than 60 feet. So, unless you are doing technical diving, where you would be required to make a safety stop deeper than 60 feet, you will have no problem.
Shopper does it show water/air temperature?
LeisurePro S Yes, temperature is displayed in one of the alternate screen settings.
Shopper Is this both an air and nitrox computer ? thanks
LeisurePro S Sorry, air only.
Shopper What algorithm is employed by this computer? How does its second and third dive times compare to the suunto algorithm?
LeisurePro S Aeris uses as its algorithm base the Modified Haldanean / DSAT (Diving Science and Technology) Database. In general, Aeris computers are more liberal than Sunnto (which lean towards conservative) and allow for longer bottom times on second and third dives while still remaining in the realm of safety.
Shopper Can you set this computer to gauge mode only.
LeisurePro S No gauge mode
Shopper is this just a computer for air, or can it also do nitrox?
Shopper Does this computer have a free dive mode ?
Shopper Can this computer be placed in gague mode? Or can alarms be turned off and computer violate to gague mode?
LeisurePro S No to both questions
Shopper Is this computer a puck and can it be taken out of the wrist band and put into a console?
Shopper Can the display be changed from feett to metres
Shopper This computer does nitrox too. Right? Aeris XR1 Wrist Computer.
Shopper Does this gauge work metric?
Shopper Does this computer operate in metric also?
LeisurePro S The computer is switchable to metric easily.
Shopper HOW DO I TURN IT OFF!
LeisurePro S The computer will shut down after a 1/2 an hour out of the water on it's own. You can not manually shut it off.
Shopper How many dives does this computer store in memory? Does it record the calendar date of the dives? Is the time of day displayed or available with this computer?
LeisurePro S This computer will log up to 12 dives, once you log more than that you loose the oldest dive when you log a new dive. This unit does not have any date information in it but does have time of day indicated in the log as well as in surface and dive modes.
Shopper How does the water activation work. Is it an add on expense or is it a menu option that the user chooses.
LeisurePro S Standard built in feature. A water contact is located on the outside of the computer and will activate the computer when it gets wet.
Shopper Hay, does this computer have a warning beep or led's flash for safety reasons? And can you download you dive data to a pc?
LeisurePro S This is an entry level model and does not have flashing lights or beeps and you cannot download it to a pc either.
Shopper What does ALT mean when the computer is first turned on? (after the scroll)
Shopper Im new at this, does it display depth, and does it have alerts for saftey etc...?
LeisurePro S Yes to both.
Shopper I understand the "Remaining dive time display"; But does total bottom time show during dive or only after dive?
LeisurePro S Yes it does display total bottom time during the dive.
Shopper DOES THIS UNIT COME WITH A WIRELESS SENDING UNIT FOR THE AIR OR IS IT SEPERATE?
LeisurePro S This computer is not compatable with any wireless sending unit, you will need to use a standard SPG for your
Shopper Is the xr-1 wrist computer compatable for nitrox use.
Shopper I am looking at the Aeris XR1 wrist computer. Does that come with the necessary battery? What does a user maintaned battery mean? Rechargeable?
LeisurePro S This computer does come with the battery installed and ready to go. The user maintained battery means that when it runs out you can change it yourself and you don't have to send it anywhere to get that done. We sell replacement batteries for $4.99
