Katy B Does this measure Nitrox?

RICHARD C I never dove nitrox, and as far as i know, this computer is only good for air.

ALLAN S The computer does not measure Nitrox. Before each dive the O2 level must be entered. The computer based on the O2 level entered uses the appropriate algorithmic to plan the dive and comput dive time.

PATRICK M No this computer is air only. Another issue with is no back lighting. I recommend the air integrated models. I've made hundreds of dives with no problems from the three I own. I also use a xr-2 wrist model as a backup on deeper dives

ROBERT H No. The XR-2 does. This is an otherwise reliable and very easy to use computer for a broad range of diving activities. It's a great bargain, though the XR-2 might be what you're looking for.

Shopper Is the computer "puck" removable from the console? It is not mentioned anywhere in the description or features.

DAVID K yes it is removeable. I have put over 100 dives on mine and can say this is a very good product. I use as a backup to my elite t3.

TOM M I suppose you could pop it out for a wrist mount. I've never tried it. I had a wrist mount and didn't like it. I just clip it off on a BC ring. It works pretty well. and is out of the way.

PATRICIA E I've never taken it out, but I know there is an attachment you can get to hook it up to your computer. I do not actually know nor have I bought the attachment. Sorry!

LARRY W Yes, it does have a compass. It's actually a nicer compass than my previous console had.

Monica s Hello, Yes it should be fine to fit your first stage, it is a 7/16" threaded fitting which is pretty standard with the exception of some older regs by some manufacturers specifically which will have a different fitting, you should be ok.

Shopper 1) How does the Console displays pressure in bar? Does it come in two different versions with two different dials of the SPG - either in PSI or in Bar? 2) What is that small dial on te lower part of the SPG?

Bill P The guage is only in PSI. The lower small dial is for the temperature

LeisurePro S The battery is not rechargeable (it is similar to a watch-type battery). The xr-1 is not configured for reading tank pressure. You will have to look into a computer that comes with a transmitter that attaches to your first stage.

The AERIS XR-1 is an ideal user-friendly diving console.

Have you ever spent a dive staring at your computer instead of looking at everything in the water all because your computer is hard to read? The XR-1's enlarged digits, easy-to-read icons, and split screen take the guesswork out of reading your dive computer. Also, the XR-1 allows you to decide what information displays; now you can customize the display to include only the things you want to keep an eye on during your dives. Variable ascent rate indicator will keep you safe upon ascent and slow you down progressively as you head to the surface. Safety stop timer will give you the ability to include the all important 15' (5 meter) safety stop which is recommended by all instructional agencies. The XR-1 features a diver replaceable CR2450 battery. This can be a real trip-saver on board a live-aboard boat! You get what you pay. I bought this computer and ended up buying a better one. In my opinion, there are three functions that are important and are not included:
- Audible alarm
- Nitrox
- Computer connection

In addition, the computer cannot be turned off manually and you have to wait two hours before it turns off automatically, consuming more battery. It is also awfully big…

However, it is a good secondary computer or an entry level one.

My biggest disappointment is that there is no lighted face on the computer. I do a lot of night diving and cannot use this computer for night diving. A simple little illumination on the face would have made all the difference, and made this computer excellent. Besides that being said this is a good quality console for the money.
