How much/many weights come with the Aeris Reef Rider BC?
Weight not included
If weights are not included are weight holders included?
Do you sell the weights for the BCD?
Comes with weight pockets. Look up (soft Lead Weight) on our site.
The Reef Rider BCD is the traveling and comfort-seeking diver's new best friend. The Reef Rider is incredibly low-profile, lightweight, and offers an amazing amount of movement freedom. Its padded neck collar and adjustable sternum strap are some of the Reef Rider's most touted comfort features.
The Reef Rider has the EZ Equipment Weight System, which allows you to easily load and unload your weights. This weight system eliminated all difficult buckles and complicated threading systems.
What is the EZ Equipment weight system? Is it similar to the weight system on the Cressi-Sub 5R SKU: CSBAQ5?
The EZ Equipment weight system is the weight integration system that this BC uses. It is designed to be versitile and light weight for easy use while traveling.
How much weight does the reef rider hold and how much of it is dumpable? Inflated at the surface, will tend to put on your face in the water?
This BC will hold at least 24Lbs of weight in a size Lg and 1/2 of that is dumpable. It is trimable from front to back to help prevent face down situations in the water.
Does this BCD use standard weights that a dive operator would have, or do I need to travel with weights for it?
No, this will use the weights that your dive operator will have, you will not need to travel with them
Will this BCD be likely to result in a "face-down" situation when on the surface? I understand that some rear-inflatable BCDs have this problem.
It is trimable from front to back to help prevent face down situations in the water. Most rear inflation BC's let you do this making this type of BC easy to use without worry of being put face forward.
I have been diving for 30 years, have always used a weight belt, have four of them plus lots of lead. Will this BC allow me to use my existing weights or do I need to purchase new weights?
This BC will hold up to 6 lbs in each of the 4 pockets of either hard or soft weight. Unless your weight that you have is large sizes it should fit easily.
How does the integrated weigh system work on this bc. i can't tell from the picture. Do the weights have a lock in system? Can you snap them out easily?
The front 2 pockets have a lock system that can be dumped or removed easily. The rear trim weights are non-dumpable.
What is the lift for this bc? Is the lift the same for all sizes or are there choices?
There is 46 lbs of lift for large and xlarge and 30 lbs for the small and medium.
How many dump valves does the Reef Rider have and where are they locatied?
The reef rider has one rear right hand dump valve.
