Questions about this item:
Shopper Is there a way to see how long a surface interval should be after a dive using the Manta?
I know that I can watch the nitrogen bar go down, but still it doesn't tell me the exact time in minutes. Without a SI time function doing a repetitive dive with this computer is not very clear.
I wasn't able to find an answer to this anywhere online, so I thought about asking where I bought it.
Connor G There is a SI time function built in, it automatically displays on ascendent (just don't hit any of the function buttons. As far as knowing when your completely free of nitrogen, the category titled "Saturation" gives you a countdown in hrs and minutes.
Shopper I already bought this computer.
How do I get my Free Digital Online Class?
David R A small card should have come with the computer, if not call us and we'll send one to you.
STEPHAN J Let me know when you find out.
ALBERT S Sorry I can't help. I bought that watch beginning of 2008.
Shopper ?
EWING N I am not sure what your question is exactly but I purchased this dive computer and have been very pleased with it. As it does offer many options, remembering how to set it is the hardest part especially since I don't dive that frequently (although I have found the manual to be well written so I have always been able to do what I want with it). I would think a web-based class to walk through how to use it would be very helpful.
REAGAN S I use the diving computer and really like it. Its functionality is something that takes a little getting use to because you have to scroll through the screens to find what you want. Do not let this sway your mind in buy this computer. I enjoy using mine and familiarity with the computer comes easily and you will really like the it. One thing about this computer that is really nice is the ability to replace the battery yourself. I sure hope you enjoy your dive computer as much as I enjoy mine. It is a nice feeling when your computer is one of the very best in the dive group and others are looking at you to provide the dives details.
Enjoy and happy diving!
DEBBIE N Great computer watch for the price.
Brittney H Are replacement batteries expensive and where can I get them? And how do I treat or get replacement o-rings for battery replacement?
GAYLE S Brittney,
My Aeris came with a small metal tool for opening the back of the watch. The owner's booklet should list the type of battery your Aeris requires. After you have bought a new battery, on line or at a dive shop, follow the directions for changing the battery. Or just ask your local dive shop. My local dive center sells and changes new batteries for about the same over-all cost as changing a battery myself. O rings - your dive shop or direct from a retailer.
Shopper Does it come with a wrist strap extension? Or is the strap long enough for thick wet suits?
BENJAMIN S Yes it comes with an extension strap to allow it to close over a wetsuit sleeve.
JONATHAN M yes it does come with an extension.
JAMES S I don't know. I don't wear gloves and I only dive warm water so I always wear it on my skin.
KAREN C Yes, it comes with a strap extension that is about 6 inches long. The whole thing without the extension is 10.5 inches in circumference when it is on the last notch.
ANDREW L It does come with a wrist strap extention
JULIE K It is like a large mens sports watch. There is no extension. I easily put it on over my wet suit and unless you have very large forearms---you can wear a normal sports watch---it should not be a problem with a 3mm wetsuit. A 7mm and large arms---maybe not.
BILL H It does come with an extension.
MARC Z I have had no issue with the strap and thick wet suits.
STEPHEN W it does come with a wrist strap extension. Just the watch strap would be hard to get over a thick wetsuit, it is a little short.
Shopper Hi there,
Does this dive computer have a user-replaceable battery?
PAUL R Yes, this Aeris Manta has a user-replaceable battery. I am a regular diver of PADI rescue level and can highly recommend this dive computer, The ONLY negative is that the alarm is not loud, it is ok in warm water but would not be not be noticed with a hood on in cold water for example.
ANDREW L Yes it's easy to change the battery if needed. Just remember to be really carefully to no pinch the rubber seal around the backing.
GAYLE S Hi, I own the Manta. Yes. The owner recieves a tool with the computer enabling battery changes. You have only a few seconds to swapt the batteries without loosing stored data.
The Manta does not save free-diving info. So in the water, you have to write down depths and times before the next free-dive. There are better wrist dive computers for the free-diving sport.
Also. After spending more money for the computer down-load cable, I had to call Aeris, talk to an engineer and ask him to burn me a copy of the windows 7 compatible program. I have not gotten the down load process to work well, ever. although the "demo" part of the programs runs.
Last. Aeris Mantas are not compatible with Apple computer systems. Further complicating dive history down-loads.
The Manta works. It is adequate. But, You get what you pay for...
PAT M Yes, you can replace the battery. I just used this watch for the first time last week diving in Bonaire and really liked it. It is a little more conservative than my Oceanic computer in my console, but less than the Sunnto watch computer I used before.
JENFU C Yes, the battery is user-replaceable. The computer comes with a tool to take the back off to access the battery. Don't lose the tool. And, make sure you replace or treat the o-ring when you replace the battery.
THOMAS K Yes. My first battery lasted a few years. I just replaced it this year for the first time myself using the supplied tool.
DALIA E Yes, very easy to replace if you use the supplied tool.
Shopper What is the difference between this model and the Manta "Old Style"?
LeisurePro S The "old style" is a discontinued model, but there are only slight cosmetic differences. The functions are all the same.
Shopper What is the battery life?
LeisurePro S The battery life is estimated at one year or 300 dive hours.
Shopper Does this computer come with a transmiter or will we need to buy it in additon to the computer
LeisurePro S Sorry, this computer is not set up to be used with a transmitter for tank pressure readings.
Shopper Does the USB work on both the Aeris Manta and the Oceanic Geo. They look to be the same watch. Do both watches function the same? Also, is the software the same?
LeisurePro S The Geo and the Manta are the exact same watch, just co-branded and printed with a different name. Likewise, the cables and software will be the same for them both.
Shopper Does the computer give a readout of dive times at different depths and does it have "no fly alert" to tell me how long I must wait after diving before I can fly?
LeisurePro S Yes, this computer has a 24 dive memory that you can look back through and does hve a 12/24 hour "no-fly" countdown.
Shopper does this computer have MAXIMUM PO2 LEVEL ALARM (NITROX) ?
LeisurePro S From the manufactuer's website: "Maximum PO2 Level Alarm (Nitrox): The Manta lets you set your own limit. Program an audible alarm to sound at the level that you prefer."
Shopper does the manta wrist watch and dive computer have auto water activation or do u have to start it manually once in water.
LeisurePro S The computer auto-activates dive mode when submerged past four feet.
Shopper Does this computer work with meters as well as feet? also does it work with Bar as well as PSI?
LeisurePro S Yes, user set for either Metric or Imperial for date, temperature, depth and pressure.
Shopper Is this computer compatable with Macintosh (I use OS 10.5.4) or does it only work with windows or vista?
LeisurePro S Sorry, only works with PCs.
Shopper Hello I was wondering if the ACI PC download cable works with all Manta dive computer and if so where does the cable connect to on the Manta. I don't see any place for a usb connection
Shopper To what depth is this wrist computer rated?
Shopper Can you use this watch only with regulator and secondary and not have a separate psi tank pressure guage?
LeisurePro S No. Not air integrated.
Shopper Does this watch track surface time between dives and adjust dive time based on surface intervals?
LeisurePro S Yes it does, it is a very nice full function dive computer.
Shopper Does the Aeries Manta have a log function? And, if so, how many dives will it log?
LeisurePro S Yes, 24 dives.
Shopper Is this a good computer for a new diver? And how does it rank with other computers?
LeisurePro S Aeris is a top manufacturer and the computer has great functions. Air, Nitrox, Gauge and Free Dive Modes to say the least.

Whats in the box:Digital Online Class, Wrist Computer, Owner's Manual Aeris MANTA is a full-featured nitrox capable Dive Computer perfect as a low-profile primary instrument or a back-up. The MANTA is a powerful and versatile new sports watch, ideal for divers, free divers and those that just want to look like one. A unique combination of quality, function and style, the MANTA is perfect on its own or as a backup to any of Aeris other Dive Computer models. Advanced Free Dive Mode: The Manta provides accurate depth and time with an amazing 1-second sampling rate for subsequent PC download and analysis. Dive Time is displayed in seconds and minutes. Custom audible alarms include Elapsed Dive Time, Countdown Timer and (3) Independent Max Depth Alarms. The Manta is the first Free Diving Computer to calculate and track Nitrogen Tissue Loading, allowing you to switch between SCUBA dives and Free Dives on the same dive day. Advanced Wristwatch Functions: The Manta is an advanced digital wristwatch featuring a 1/100 second chronograph (stopwatch) with lap timer, 24 hour countdown timer, daily alarm, alternate time zone with date, 12/24 hour clock, and OceanGlo Backlight. Dive Time Remaining: Dive Time Remaining provides a 'real' number in minutes, considering Nitrogen and Oxygen absorption, and automatically displays whichever allows less time. Oversized Digits: Take the AERIS challenge: When shopping for a new dive computer, compare the displays. When it comes to viewing critical information, which would you rather see at 100' (30 meters)? Audible Alarms with Flashing LED Warning Light: The Manta features a variety of system and user-customized audible alarms, alerting you to situations that pose a potential danger, or simply serve as a convenient reminder. Audible Alarm Acknowledgement: Have you ever had difficulty hearing your computer's audible alarm? Perhaps that little beep signifying a potentially dangerous situation was timed perfectly with your exhaust bubbles rushing past your ears. Or maybe it seemed insignificant as that huge manta ray soared overhead. You won't miss the Manta's audible alarm. Once triggered, the alarm will sound continuously for 10 seconds. We know what you're thinking. "That's nice, I'll definitely hear the alarm, but isn't that going to annoy me and everyone else in the water?" We thought of that too. The alarm's job is to get your attention so that you look at the computer. Once it does that, simply press the button and it will stop. You're a responsible diver and the Manta treats you that way. Air or nitrox: The Manta acts simply as an 'Air' computer until you tell it otherwise, whether that is this weekend or 2 years down the road. The MANTA has an operating range to 330' (100 meters), can onboard log 24 dives, 99 free-dives, and is powered by a user replaceable 3 volt CR2430 lithium battery.
