This is my first computer. I just used it on a recent trip to Mexico. The instructions are very difficult to read and understand. Many pages of descriptions of the functions (over and over again) but very little on how to actually use it. Plan a dive ???? How do you do that? The directions supposedly go through the procedures but there are no examples to know how to actually do it. My take is this computer manual, like some home computer manuals, you have to know how to use the computer before you can understand the manual. It did record my dives but I am not sure it recorded all the information because I couldn't understand how to set it up for the first one, plan a dive ???? I would probably recommend this computer but buyer beware. The manual is not going to give you much help in its use. So, either find someone that has used a computer before that maybe can help you or try others before buying this one.

This computer is really user friendly- easy to work, clear manual, etc. I really liked it (while it lasted)- I had it set to go into dive mode automatically after descending 5ft, the screen was easy to switch from your dive info to time/temp while diving. There are options for dive planning, air mix (nitrox), and a clear nitrogen loading bar. Overall great experience...however- The depth gauge stopped functioning in the middle of a dive. At the surface I cleaned the sensors exactly as mentioned in the manual. About 3 weeks later the computer shut off completely (no low batt warnings, etc) and hasn't turned back on since. I only had/used the computer about 3 months with about 60 dives logged. I plan on sending it back to the manufacturer, but dont know if I would rely on this computer again...

Comments about Aeris Manta Scuba and Free Diving Wrist Computer:

Many reviews (bad) concerning the battery life. Mine is still alright after 160 dives with it.

Documentation is not exactly terrible, but at the same time it seemed to have been written by a machine for a machine. For example, the light button only activate the light, yet in every function explanations they say the light button activate the light... Other than that the doc use some abbreviated jargon that can be difficult to understand for a beginner.

The wrist computer is smaller than some other brand in the same price-category (ie: Suunto), yet it's bigger than a "big" wristwatch (bigger than a Rolex).

Fairly reliable. Although on one or two occasion the computer logged a dive when I was sitting in my bed at sea level. Don't know why it did that although I suspect it could be the heat (I'm in Fiji at the moment).

Comments about Aeris Manta Scuba and Free Diving Wrist Computer:

I first used the Manta for snorkleing/freediving in the lake. All I had to do was jump in the water and start to decend and the Manta started to tell me how deep I was going. Next, was to try it scuba diving.... My first dive with the Manta was in the Gulf of Mexico at the rigs spearfishing. The Manta has a large display, on my wrist, making it very easy to veiw my depth as I was fighting with the fish I just shot. On my accent I noticed it started to beep and blink when I got to about 18-20ft. The Manta was telling me to stop for the15ft 3min safety stop. I recommend learning how to use the Manta before jumping in, but learning along the way worked for me. Having a friend who has dive computers explain everything to me is how I finally figured everything out.

Comments about Aeris Manta Scuba and Free Diving Wrist Computer:

I was pleasantly surprised with this computer. LeisurePro was very accommodating on availability. The size is very nice, can be used easily as a watch while hanging at the pool or beach after diving. I don't typically wear a watch, but it was nice to have on those occasions. Very easy to use. The online training expedited it's use as i purchased only a couple of days before our DR trip. Easy to read, although getting max depth and temp on the main screen would be nice, but understandable based on it's size. Only 2 button pushed to cycle max depth and temp though.

Got this as my first dive computer and I'm very glad I did!! The display is easy to read and the watch is very user friendly once you get the hang of all the functions. The free online class that you get with this watch was very helpful.

I bought the blue one for me and the black one for my husband. Very easy to operate, though I do recommend going through the manual before using for the first time. We love that the necessary info is easy to access and the screen is easy to read. My husband wore his as a watch when not diving and it was very comfortable. The price was GREAT.
