Questions about this item:
Shopper Does this work well enough to replace a pressure hose? or is it better to keep it as a backup in case batteries go down during a dive?
RICHARD M Two is better than one, especially when it comes to Scuba Diving. Never ever eliminate your high pressure hose. The computer should be your backup, not your SPG.
COLLETTE M Yes, it will replace a pressure hose. It will let you know well before the batteries are going to go out on you, and the batteries are simple to change. Just keep a spare set in your dive bag. Having said that, remember the main rule of diving, "Two is as good as one, and one is as good as none." Always have a backup set of gauges tucked away.
PETER H I replaced mine with it and it works great
JENNIFER S I took my pressure hose off and replaced with transmitter. System works flawlessly. I am however going reattach my pressure gauge as a back up.
KUNAL A I've never had the signal drop. There is a battery meter and warning. I don't use a second SPG.
ROSS M The transmitter is working pretty well. But there has been a couple times during the dive when I lost communication. The watch has always picked up where it left off, but I would still keep your manual gauge hooked up by hose. I'm still very pleased with theElite transmitter.

GILES K One of the reasons for getting a hoseless integrated computer system is to eliminate a hose. If you are looking to streamline your rig this is the way to go, but you must trust your instruments. Batteries going down during a dive is rare, and there is a battery monitor on the device, so as long as you perform your diligence, it should not be an issue. It is your personal preference as to how much redundancy you want on your system e.g. tech diving = more redundancy, rec diving = less gear. Hope this helps.
JOHN E I purchased two of these. One for myself, and one for my son. My son has kept the pressure guage on his regulator, I have not. In my limited experience the computer and transmitter have worked flawlessly and I am confident they will continue to do so.
I have also come to accept the fact that if the unit does fail while diving I will have to abort that dive, and possibly stop diving for the remainder of the day or even the rest of my trip. Before my next dive vacation, I will purchase another spg and depth guage. I will probably leave these in my dive bag as back up.
YALE H It works quite well, so it's really a matter of preference for you. Personally I keep a small Dive Rite SPG attached, It's a single gauge that's only about 1-1/2 inches in dia. so it don't take up any room. I just tuck it away and it's there for peace of mind in case of a malfunction. You're taught to abort dive right away if there is a computer malfunction anyway, but this will let you know the amount of air for a safety stop without having to worry.
PATRICK L Yes; however, I always keep an air/depth gauge just in case of any possible malfunction.
ZACHARY B I've never had an issue with mine. I can set up my gear and walk around a little without my computer losing contact with the transmitter. It's never given me any trouble underwater, either, and I've taken it all the way down past 120 feet.
SAM H The hoseless device has worked beautifully on about 10 dives--I only got it a couple of months ago. Whether it will always work is impossible to tell. I think having a backup to tell you how much air you have is not a bad idea because you could die if the pressure reading is off on any one single device. The only problem is that it's another hose to carry around with you. If you dive with a buddy, there's probably a nice safety margin. If you are diving in a cave or risky situation, I think divers always carry a backup given the increased risk of the situation. At 30-40 feet in some coral reefs, on the other hand, even if you run out of air, one can always do an emergency ascent if your buddy is around. The battery level sensors on the Aeris is very accurate so it should be easy to tell if the batteries are getting weak. Replacing the batteries once a year anyway is not a bad idea since they cost about $10 for both the watch and the transmitter.
JOHN B I've got 40 dives on mine this year and have gone without a pressure hose. I have not had 1 issue..I've dove in water from 51 degrees f to the warm waters of the Caribbean ...from 115ft deep to 25 ft....no issues...I've contemplated using a pressure hose gauge as a backup just haven't done it...can't be to safe I guess..hope that helps

JASON D Works very well, I removed my pressure hose and have had no problems. Down to 2 hoses and it's great!!!!
Scott C I believe in redundancy. Your life depends on it. This is a great computer. Very intuitive and large screen. It works great!
d m Does this computer have a free diving mode?
ANDREW D Yes it does it's called gauge mode. It just acts like a gauge cluster giving you depth temp time ect.
JOHN E I have never used the free diving mode, but yes it does have one.
BRIAN W I'm sorry, but I purchased the Elite T3 which does have a free dive mode. I would suggest going onto the Aeris website and downloading the user manual to to verify if it does or does not. Looking at the specifications on the Leisurepro website I didn't see mention of a free mode for the computer you are asking about. However looking at the specs for the Elite T3 it clearly states free mode. This makes me think that the computer you are asking about doe not.
SHANE B I actually purchased the Aeris Elite T3, not the regular Elite, but as far as I know the Elite does not have a Free mode, only Normal and Gauge. I can confirm that the T3 version DOES have a Free dive mode. I hope this is of help to you.
YALE H Hey d m,
Yes it does have a free diving mode as well as a gauge mode that is used by some tech divers. I have not used either of these modes so I can't explain any more about it.
PATRICK M Yes it does. On a side note, did 19 dives in six days at Roatan this summer and this computer is absolutely fantastic. I would give this my highest recommendation.
ERIC W That is the T3 has the 3 modes.
ERIC W The computer has 3 modes: air, nitrox & free dive. It a great reliable computer. Good value.
RICHARD M It has a free dive mode which can be accessed from the Surface Mode Screen. See page 12 of the operating manual which can be accessed on line.
Scott C Yes, it does. I have used it already.
GRANT F It sure does, I haven't used that mode but it does.
Personally I love this computer! Its been great and the computer cable and software make real time data logging of the dive and review very easy. Would buy this computer again in a heart beat.
Shopper Does this watch give you saftey stops while acsending??
TANYA M Definitely! It's triggered at the depth you set (15 ft) and I found it would give an alert at 18 ft - it also has a nifty alarm for when you're ascending too quickly. I found the manual tricky to get through at first, but, if you just take your time and follow the step-by-step instructions, you'll be fine. For my first computer, I'm quite pleased. Cheers! :)
TANYA M Absolutely! It's triggered by the depth - as soon as you pass the depth you choose for your safety stop it starts the countdown. The ascending alarm is good too - let's you know when you're coming up too quickly. I was really happy with the Aeris Elite - but - it definitely took some time to get through the manual. It reads like another language! So give yourself some time with that and just follow along - it walks you through each and every set-up. Happy to help with any other questions you have - cheers! :)
MARK Z Yes, and it is a nice feature. I set mine to do 5 minutes at 15 feet. As soon as I get near 15 feet it starts a countdown timer.
Shopper I have a few dives under my belt and wanted to know if this unit is simple to operate for a novice?
ROY H Yes. It is easy to use and a good computer. I've had mine for around 4 years, flooded it once and it still works great.
DAVID D Its a really nice unit, but not really intuitive.
CATHERINE F This is the first full-featured hoseless computer I have owned But my answer would be an enthusiastic "YES". You can use this as a simple gauge (albeit very fancy) or you can customize settings as deeply into the tables as you wish. One feature I think will make any new to journeyman diver safer and more confident is the contiuously calculated "dive time remaining" based on current depth and consumption rate. When I was a new diver I would see the pressure going down and even though I was safely within all parameters, my air consumption would rise due to nervousness. Now, no matter where I am, I get a constant read of minutes remaining.....very relaxing. I would recommend this item to anyone.
COLLETTE M I found the unit to be very easy to operate from dive one. It could use a little louder audible alarm, but I still believe it was a great choice for me.
ROBERT C Yes, the Aeris Elite is easy to operate. One does need to study the operaters manual to fully understand all the benifits. I really enjoy the transmitter, one less hose hanging down. Dollar for dollar you can't beat the Aeris Elite.
PATRICK B Yes it is very easy to use , I would buy over again
Love it
DAWN A It's the easiest computer I've used so far. To read the computer your hand has to be away from your body for the signal to reach it.
JIM F Actually this is the computer that my wife uses, and she likes it for the ease of reading the face, as well as the fact that it is hoseless.
Shopper Does it come with transmitter?
ROBERT C Actually, bought the Elite T3. It came with a transmitter. The first one didn't work but Leisure Pro went out of thier way to make it right and get me a new one before my dive. 16 dives and doing well. You won't go wrong with this product.
DAWN A mine did. may have to pay more, don't remember. sorry
BART J Yes. Just FYI, I think this a really good product. The transmitter is strong enough so that you always have your pressure readings.
BRIAN W Yes, that round thing that fits on your first stage is a blue tooth transmitter.
DAVID D Yes, it comes complete ready to use. It's a very nice unit.
MORRIS C Yes it came with a transmitter, however they would not talk to each other. I had to have them reprogrammed so they would talk to each other.
Nick G Are you able to check your gas supply in PSI while still on the surface (without getting the computer wet)?
JASON P Hi, Nick.
Yes, you can turn on the computer at any time just by pushing the green button on the face. As long as your first stage is pressurized (i.e., your tank valve is on), it will read the PSI on the surface.
JP
FREDERICK Y Nick
Yes, you check PSI while setting up the gear on the boat. The computer starts dive time when submerged in water. Hope this helps.
DAVID A yes.pressure is always displayed as long as wrist unit is activated and tank is turned on.
Nick G Thanks David, that's great to hear.
Hey while I have you on the line, could you tell me if your computer would lose signal from the transmitter at all while on a dive?
Thanks, Nick
DAVID A occasionally if you get too much of your body between transmitter and receiver but it picks signal up again quickly when you reposition .
ELIAS A Hi Nick:
The answer is Yes. With the trasmitter installed on a full tank and the valve open, turn On the wrist unit, and the pressure shows. See p 13 of the Owner's Guide. You may have press one or the other of the buttons to display the tank pressure
I love my Aeris, but I also carry a spare computer in case tjhe battery dies.
Good diving !
Nick G Thank you Elias. I like to have two computers on each dive also. My other working computer is a Suunto Vyper 2.
Please tell me if this computer ever loses signal from the transmitter at all while on a dive?
Thanks, Nick
PAUL N Yes. Once the transmitter is installed on your first stage, most of the computer's functionality, including the PSI reading, activates as soon as you open the tank valve.
Shopper Can you see the remaining air of your dive buddy displayed on your computer?
LeisurePro S The buddy check feature is only available on the upgraded T3 model found here.
Shopper Does it have a digital compass?
LeisurePro S Sorry, the Elite computer does not have a digital compass.
Shopper Does the transmitter have to go on a HP port? Can the computer work as a non air integrated computer if you don't hook up the transmitter?
LeisurePro S Yes, computer can be used without transmitter, but the transmitter has to go into HP port.
Shopper How do this and other wireless computers work if you are diving without the wireless transmitter? I assume it would work like any computer that doesn't track O2 wirelessly, but I wanted to make sure. Thank you.
LeisurePro S Yes, if you have a traditional tank pressure gauge, you can hook that up to your first stage and then use this computer just like any other computer.
Shopper are they diver changable batterys. does it work on mac osX
LeisurePro S Yes, the batteries are user-replaceable. Unfortunately, does not work with a mac.
Shopper will the transmittter fit a scubapro first stage?
LeisurePro S Should work. Fits into standard HP first stage ports.
Shopper Does this computer display the breathing rate, I see it calculates it, but is it displayed?. Is this a "T3"? If not what's the difference? Does it come with a computer download cable? Thanks, Glenn
ctsvett c Is that the only difference between the elite and the T3? I cant find a good comparison.
LeisurePro S will not but will show you air remaining in time. comes with Computer, Transmitter and PC Cable. this is not the T3. T3 will allow you to monitor 3 different transmiters.
