L W So does this unit come with a cummerbund? Some people bought one separately, others said it comes with it. Am I to presume the default setup is the where the weight pouch is part of the waist strap?
SERGEY L I bought Aeris 5 Oceans a month ago and mine didn't come with cummebund. I dove with two larger weights in side pockets and two smaller weights in the pockets on the air tank belt. It feels pretty well balanced that way.

GLENN R This BCD does not come with a cummerbund, but you can order one from an Aeris dealer. My wife's BCD, the Aeris EX300 has one, so she made me one from a weight belt we found at Dunham's. The Aeris 5 has a back support plate just like the EX300 so it velcro's on just the same. Works great, I love the Aeris % and for the price, you can't beat it!

L W Is this a male specific BC? Asking because looking at it for female 5'7" 140LB. 29" waist. Wondering if the shoulder harness runs straight down the front (like a suspender) or around the shoulder and down the side (like a backpack or backplate/wings). The suspender setup is extremely uncomfortable for women. Plus, what is this cummerbund thing for? I thought the BCD should fit as is.
GERALD J This BCD is a real winner. But I reccommend that you try one on before you buy it. I personally love the fit.

ADAM I It runs down the front but not exactly like suspenders. It's a great BC, not sure if Females will find t as comfortable as males but it works well and is comfortable for a male.
ALAN C This is not a male specific BCD. But, if you are a bit top heavy it may not be for you. the shoulder harness does run straight down so it will be very uncomfortable for you. The sturnum strap helps to keep the shoulder straps in line. This BCD doesn't come with a cummerbund but you can purchase one separately. I have never had to use one on any of the BCDs I've owned. I'm 5'10", 165 lbs. and the large fits me perfect.

Gene L Yes, I added one - ordered it directly from Aeris. It made a world of difference. Without cummerbund it's a fairly poor fit, with cummerband - perfect.
Look for "Cummerbund, ATMOS XT/LX" in Aeris store or call them to verify.

GERALD J I wear a size 44 coat and I got a large. You probably need the next size up. The BC is a winner.

CHAD H I'm not sure what the manufacturer says, but based on my own sizing, I would guess that a Large would fit you. Good luck.
SVEN B Sounds like you may fit into a large but I am not sure. In my personal experience of 30 years of diving, having the right BCD fit can make all the difference in achieving great trim and comfort during a dive, leading to better air consumption and an overall enjoyment of your diving experience. Having said that, nothing beats actually trying the BCD on before you buy. Either way, I think Leisurepro also has a policy of lettig you return a product for an exchange of the same one in a different size at no charge. Give them a call if you have questions. FRANKLIN M The shoulder & chest area of the XL should fit you fine. The waist strap may be the deciding factor. If < 36", consider L, if > 36", XL should be fine.

David C This BCD is true to size. I recommend going off the size chart. I went off of the measurements and it fits perfectly. It first it feels a bit off but it is only because it's so streamline and I was too use to full jacket style BCDs.
ABBAS M I'm 5'11 & 180lbs, medium is what i use but that's a snug fit ... at 210 and your chest is bigger, I would recommend a large... Definitively a great BC ... compact fits into carry on luggage (I don't like to check in my dive equipment, the last thing you want is to show up to your dive site and the airlines have lost your stuff). The back inflation was certainly a great choice, helps in reaching neutral buoyancy fast. with the dump valve in the bottom you and make quick free decent, The only problem I noticed a few time was that the tank would come loose. A buddy diver recommended to get those mesh covers for the tanks. Overall would buy it again in a heartbeat....
LCDR S I'm 6-0, 195 with a 43" chest and I wear a large that fits just right...you may want to go with an XL, but I think a large will work in a pinch
Shopper I'm female, long torso 5'11'' , 140 lbs, 29" waist . If i got a medium, would i most likely have to get a cummerbund to get it to fit?
CHAD H I'd say it depends where you're diving. Here in the Northwest, where we're pretty loaded with weight, I'd recommend a cummerbund. When the weight pockets on the BC are fully loaded, the sides become so stiff that the don't cinch well. I started using a weight belt so that the BC was more comfortable. And I'm 5'9" and 160lbs (male). I'd probably recommend the cummerbund in any case.
ALAN C I'm 5'10" , 170 lbs., and a 32" waist. I have a large 5 oceans and don't need the cummerbund. But because you have a small waist you may want to consider it. This way it would not try to ride up your neck while entering the water or in a vertical position. I hope this has helped you with your decision. Lee

JASON R I am 6' 2" and got a large and it fits great. The waist closure pulls pretty tight, I am obviously larger 200 lbs 35 waist, but I could be much smaller and it would be able to fit snug.
Eric C How to take care of it?
GERALD J That is a simple process. Be sure to fresh water rinse it after every dive. This is a fine BCD. Simple care and it will last a long time.

CHAD H Not sure if you have a specific question, but washing it after each use is a must. I also take off the shoulder mounted valve to put fresh water inside and rinse that out before storage. Otherwise, it's pretty standard.
JESSE B You should immerse in fresh water after use as well as letting water into the inside of the vest to rinse any salt residue from the interior. The BC should then be left to dry in an well aired environment but not in direct sunlight.
RICKY C It takes nothing to care for it, just rinse it off with fresh water after dives and your good to go.
KEEGAN V After use, rinse with fresh water. Also, inflate the bc and using the mouth piece with the valve held open, flush the inside of vest with fresh water. Completely empty vest of water, let dry and store in a dry place out of direct sunlight.
MARK L I rinse it daily after diving. If it won't be used for some time; I unscrew the inflation hose to the air bladder and rinse it out as well. After it's dry I put a little air in it and store it.
