One of the oldest watercrafts known to man is a flat boat, which is neither a canoe nor kayak. Used by Polynesians to travel a thousand years ago from island to island and face storms and high seas. These modern Sit On Tops are ideally suited as rental craft because a novice can paddle it and it can easily be reboarded.

Both models utilize double hull construction with a durable fabric cover. comes with a mesh carrying/dive bag and seat/seats.

Note: Recommended accessories are #640, #74B, #64 Kayak Paddles; #304T, #300P, #204IB, RB2500 pumps; and various inflators; PFD 995/996. Comes with a repair kit.

Comments about Stearns/Sevylor Sevylor U250/U251 Sit on Top Inflatable Kayak, Orange:

We have two 1990s-era Sevylor sit on top kayaks and use them every year, daily for 3-6 weeks in the Carribean. They are fun and easy for everyone, except really top heavy dudes with leetle teeny bottoms :^) Right now I need new fins (aka "skegs"?)so that is the only problem. We have repaired the handles a couple times, but newer designs may have solved that.

Comments about Stearns/Sevylor Sevylor U250/U251 Sit on Top Inflatable Kayak, Orange:

Highly recommend getting the white one(s) pictured in the advert, rather than the blaze orange ones that arrived. Notice the foot rests depicted. On the orange kayaks, the footrest(s) are only half as wide as the ones shown. This results in a MUCH less stable ride and/or placing your feet at the very outer edge of the footrests. The 2-seater is far more stable, tracks better, goes faster with less effort, and is better in every respect than the single seater. It would probably also be good for near-shore diving, as it could carry the necessary gear in place of the front-seat passenger - well worth the $20 differential. You will also need a good hand-pump (like something you'd use to pump up a zodiac). Electric pumps, whether D-cell or 12-volt, don't develop nearly enough pressure for a solid ride, and I doubt even a marching band could achieve the necessary air pressure by mouth. Electric pumps are great for the first 90% of the fill, but after that you'll need a real pump. It's great that they roll/fold up to fit into a vehicle rather than on top of it - and don't take up much storage space. All in all, they're fun and convenient for day tripping. For serious distance, you'll need a rigid kayak.

I have tried this in the surf on the Oregon coast in mild 1-3ft waves. Very fun, catch a lot of waves, stay out of the cold water.

Comments about Stearns/Sevylor Sevylor U250/U251 Sit on Top Inflatable Kayak, Orange:

This kayak is great if you are looking for ease of use and portability. We have a boat and this kayak is very easy to stow. It inflates within 5 minutes using a standard foot pump (not included). It is double lined and one can tell that if properly cared for, will last a long time. Once inflated it extremely stable and easy to board (you can just about stand on top of it). My husband and I have used it several times already without a problem. Even my 5 year old daughter enjoys paddling with mom. I would recommend this to anyone who wants a kayak that can be easily stowed and inflated with easy maneuverability. The kayak actually fits in the bag that it came with (when does that ever happen?)I can also say that I shopped around and Leisure Pro has the best price and best service around! Also as a note it should say that it comes with 3 skegs.

Comments about Stearns/Sevylor Sevylor U250/U251 Sit on Top Inflatable Kayak, Orange:

I bought this product first because of its price. I live in Europe and the best price in euros I could get was more than double of the one I actually paid on the website.
Otherwise it is very easy to inflate, stable and easy to maneuver. I particularly appreciate the fact that you can just sit on it and let your legs in the water when you want to relax and refresh, and also get the seat down flat and lay completely on the board.
I used it this summer during 3 weeks on a big lake and a river, and it was a lot of fun, and way less expensive than if I should have rented a kayak as often as I used it.
