I own four inflatable kayaks including three sevylors. I only use them on rivers, Colorado, Gunnison, Green River.
The Rio is affordable and stable. It works great for me. I have been through Class III rapids in it, never overturned. I would say it is plenty of boat for anyone but an expert in very heavy water. My Sevylors have never been punctured, they are very durable and easy to use.
My only complaints: No footrests and will need to rig up some form of thigh strap tie down for it. Mostly a comfort issue. Seems odd to not put in such a inexpensive add-on. The boats also take a while to dry out after use.
All in all, great product for the money. I got mine for about $270. Seems foolish to me to spend 3 or 4 times that amount on essentially the same boat unless you actually need the best boat available.

I use the blow up because of the easy storage in my camper. It inflates easily, deflates easily and stores in it's bag easily. I use it to explore around the campground lakes and to just paddle out and float. You can't tip it and it is easy to get out of as well. I love it.
