Bought two of these Mares packages for my kids. Nice, comfortable system. Only use them occasionally so I can not attest to their durability but no problems so far. Only needs a compass.

very nice equipment at a good price. I dive mostly in lakes, but did do a few ocean dives, it works great. The reg. bag could be bigger and the console doesn't have a compass, but for a few dollars more I was able to substitute it for one that has one.

I bought this package and used it to get certified. It worked great with only one problem, it was easy to set up, functioned well and I am very pleased with it. The only problem is the regulator is too small so I use it for a tool and parts bag instead.

I purchased 8 sets of these for use in a public aquarium. They are used multiple times everyday.
First stage- They are very solid, but the high pressure seats tend to wear out quickly with high usage levels. I have to service them 3 or 4 times a year...at this price- it almost makes more sense to just replace them!
Second stage- it can often need an actuator adjustment, which is very straight forward but requires a special nut driver tool and allen key. Be sure to check the strength of your purge after you adjust it! They hold up really well to abuse and dont show scratches.
BCD- the patchs on the pockets do tear off easily and the stitching fades a bit, but again- we use them pretty hard here.
Depth pressure gauges also seem to burn through orings and air spools. I suggest to have extras on hand.
I would highly recommend this package for a recreational user- for a professional user beware of hidden maint costs as the warranty does not cover pro usage. Great value.

Several cold (50 deg) dives. Several warm (80 deg) dives with no problems. Reg is good. BCD is very nice. Adjustments are easy. The gages are accurate and easy to read. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a low cost high quality set up. I would buy this again. The only poorly thought out item is the regulator bag as it isn't large enough to hold the reg once you assemble it. I saved enough to buy a bigger bag anyway.
First order was lost by UPS LeisurePro was very helpful in addressing this problem.

You can't beat the price! The BC is high quality. The best part of this package is the regs. Very easy breathing and comfortable. Much better than the gear that i trained with. The regs I trained with were like breathing through a soda straw. You can't go wrong with this scuba package. The gauge console is also very streamlined and easy to read.
