Great overall add-on to any wetsuit. The only downside is that the neck is a little constricting while at the surface, but tends to not bother me while under water. The overall length is a little shorter than I realized but not an issue (instead of going down to say the waist is lays just below the belly button). Again, this isn't an issue b/c it's ment to be worn under an existing wetsuit.
It adds excellent thermal protection and I would recommend it to anyone searching for that little extra when it comes to being comfortable underwater. I've use this so far in Lake Superior diving 34 degrees!!! As far as adding weight to ur setup I got away with going from 20 pounds (in a 7ML 1 piece) to 22 pounds with both no problem
-Just for reference I ordered the M/L suit and I'm 6" and 170

Works perfectly. Combined with a 8mm wetsuit, I don't feel the cold of Monterey bay at all
Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-Elastiprene Lined 7mm Hooded Vest Mens:
I purchased this hooded vest for diving in the local quarries in Tennessee and Kentucky. The thermocline is usually arount 20 feet and gets very cold after that. Although this a little hard to don, it does just what I expected it to do on those deeper dives. I use it under a 3mm full wetsuit. It fits well on me with the neck area being snug, but not uncomfortable. Great product.

Got this for a little extra core heat under a 7mm wetsuit for those wintry ice dives. Here's the thing with this vest; if your wetsuit fits well, then this will not fit well underneath it. It bunches up, making zipping a real challenge, and it tends to ride up your torso when donning your wetsuit. If you need a core heater, I'd recommend a shorty style that uses your legs to keep it in place or just use an exterior jacket to avoid all fit issues completely. The product itself is a solid, well made Pinnacle product and the merino lining definetely provides warmth. Sizing is in-line with the Pinnacle chart and fits similarly to all their other products. If you have the space inside your wetsuit, then this is for you. Otherwise, find an overcoat/jacket for more warmth.

Excellent product! I love this product. I dive in Monterey, CA water is always about 50 degrees and this hooded vest adds the warmth and comfort required to enjoy each dive. I have used this vest about five times now and I have never felt cold under water. I would definitely recommend this to any diver.
Leisure pro provided excellent costumer service from the time the order was placed until it was delivered. Fast delivery!! I you buy diving gear on-line you must buy from these guys.
Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-Elastiprene Lined 7mm Hooded Vest Mens:
I was disappointed with this piece of gear, especially since I own their Dry Suit hood which I absolutely love. The body of the vest fit fine but the hood was cut way too small and was too tight. I went with a medium for both the dry suit hood and the vest and the hoods were cut very, very differently.

very warm
Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-Elastiprene Lined 7mm Hooded Vest Mens:
The vest fits fine, but the attached hood is a little to big and lets in to much water. Over all the vest is flexable enough to get on and off with out to much trouble. It will help for cold water dives.

I purchased this core to use with a 7mm Pinnacle Elastiprine wetsuit. I am currently diving in Japan, water temp is low sixties. This core is amazing. The Merino lining keeps you super warm, and I checked my watch, I didn’t feel the cold water down the crack until after 12 minutes into the dive. Very easy to don and doff. The material is real flexible and not too thick, which is surprising for the amount of heat it provided me! The hood is 7mm, and the actual core is 3mm, but I found it to be warmer than a 6mm core I had used prior to this. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who dives the cooler waters and who cares about not shivering throughout your dive!

I wore this hooded vest with the new Pinnacle Element for 4 dives in Montery in 48 degree water and never was cold. Great venting. My reg usually has me looking like a cone head, but not with this hood. Dries fast and the ME feels great. I need to pickup another hood, because this one will be too warm > 55 degrees. [...] They make an unbeatable combination for a third to half the price of going dry.

This is a GREAT hoodvest! I've gone through several different hoodvests that I tried out, and this one works the best by far!
It is extremely warm and comfortable! I use it for cold water diving and it perfectly completes my ensemble! I have also just worn my hoodvest with boardshorts and have gone snorkeling in 50 degree water and it kept me warm for over an hour no problem!
If your going cold, use this hoodvest, bottom line!
Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-Elastiprene Lined 7mm Hooded Vest Mens:
I think they should have continued the 7mm through the entire product. Pinnacle says their 3mm is as warm as a 5mm. So they layered the chest with an additional 3mm. I guess they think with their wetsuits that 3mm + 3mm = 10mm but I don't agree. I dove in 61 degree water last week. with a pinnacle elastoprene 3mm and this vest 3mm I froze my tail off. I have a Bare Artic Vest too, 7mm all the way through and I really think it's warmer than this vest. Plus the Artic Vest covers your privates, which are sensitive to cold. Go with the Bare Product here it's warmer.

I dive in cold water and wear this under a 7mm suit along with a dive skin. I am tall and skinny so the chest is a little big for me but would probably fit the avg male. I didn't care so much about the chest fit since it is under another suit. It is amazingly warm the wool lining is and its not itchy. I would buy other merino lined stuff.
There is a rubber gasket around the neck that is kind of seals with the wetsuit to keep water out. The edges around the face opening tend to interfere with my mask but I plan to cut some of it out to fit my face better - it is designed to be cut if necessary.
Delivery was basically overnight to the boston area even though I didnt pay extra for it.

I layer this with a skin and 7 mm farmer john and sometimes also a 3 mm when I do a 90ft. dive in Greers Ferry lake in April or October.Yes it is tight on my neck but it needs to be to keep my neck warm at that depth just try it pulled down off your chin !!
