The Escape 5 John can be used with the Escape 5 Jacket as a two-piece 5mm wetsuit system that is rugged, durable, warm, and economical. Either the Jacket or the Farmer John can be used as a stand-alone item when the water warms or for water sports activities. Constructed from 5mm Titanium Lined Neoprene and Internal Smooth-Skin Sealing Surfaces, with Spine Pad make this an extremely warm 5mm suit. If Durability is what you are looking for suit has Heavy Duty Rough-Skin Kneepads, Marine Grade Brass Zippers and all Seams are Double-Glued and Blind Stitched with Reinforced Stress Disks at all Seam Intersections.

Just purchased prior to a trip to Spain. The water in the Mediterrain Sea is quite cold versus the Carribbean which is where we normally dive. The water temp was approximately 65 degrees where we were diving. I used this with the matching Pinnacle 5mm jacket and I was quite warm. Its well made and I do beleive after looking around at other wetsuits one on the nicer ones out there.

This is my sixth Farmer John (+Jacket) suit in my >30 years of diving, so I can compare. This one is very easy to put-on and take-off thanks to shoulder/neck design of the farmer and the ankle zippers; at the same time it seals well and is quite warm for its thickness. The knee-pads are of good and (apparently) durable material -cannot say so with authority as I've used it only once yet; however, I've noticed that Pinnacle offer kevlar knee-pads in some other suits of their lineup. I would have preferred those in this suit even at a higher cost. Ditto their merino lining that isn't offered in 3mm suits. The spine-pad is OK, but could have been thicker. It lets a bit of water seep through.

See my review of the jacket for general comments. I like the velcro/shoulder fixing on these bottoms - very easy to get on or off. Good quality feel to the whole suit. The knee pads are also good.
