I am 5'11", 180 pounds and normally take a Medium. I tried 3 times to get the right fit... finally took an XXL. [...] This can be worn as a really warm shorty or as a layer under a full suit which makes it really flexible. I really like the hood which can be worn up or down depending upon whether you are getting a chill. This makes it even more flexible. I love this thing!

As others have commented, this item fits small. I originally ordered the XL, but replaced with the XXL, which fits nicely over my 3 mil. I'm 6'2", 205#. With the front zipper, it's difficult to remove. I love the integrated hood, very comfortable.

Durable reinforced stiching at the seams. Stylish design and good fit for athletic torso. Highly recommend you google for "mares wetsuit size chart" to help you figure out the right fit. Front zip is a little difficult for men with broader shoulders to take off. The zipper ends just below the left ear, so you'll hear the zipper when ever it brushes against something.

well made at a phenomenal price. I use it by itself instead of a 3mm full suit or on top of a full suit when diving in colder water. An integrated hood offers a better seal than any neck seal and provides extra warmth. i find it very easy to put on. Taking it off was difficult at first until I figured it out. Now it's no harder than other wetsuits. keeps you very warm. buy one size larger than you usually wear.

If you are like me, you live/shop by the reviews. Although it looks and feels great, I couldn't get it completely on. I am 6', 220 pounds. I ordered the XXL and it doesn't fit. Unfortunately they do not sell it in a larger size.

When the zipper is all the way to the top it ends at your cheek, which works great for sealing the hood. It is very easy to get into. I dove 4 dives per day in 73 degree water and was toasty warm. The only drawback is that it has good seals at the arms and with a front zipper it can be interesting to get out of. Overall I think it's a great wetsuit.

This is a very high quality wetsuit but runs a bit on the small size. I recommend one size larger than usual.

The "buddy system" is almost required, as it's a bit of a challenge donning and doffing this shorty over a full-size wetsuit. But, it does its job once in the water. The hood is great; if you don't need to cover your chin, that part of the hood still fits flush enough on your neck. Since I bought them (another for my ladylove) one size too big, I won't likely use it without my wetsuit. However, my guess is that for dives where a full suit isn't necessary, this should do the trick just as well!

[...]. I ordered the XXL to go over a full 3mil when the water is cold. The XXL is WAY to small for me directly, not over anything. Arms and legs too tight - enough to hurt, body WAY too short causing me to nearly sing soprano. I am 6'1", 190 lbs, 44" chest, 36" waist. Based on their sizing, this should have been too big.

I have a full body suit from pinnacle and have no problem with the size M. But with the Mares M feels bit on the short side. I feel alot of pressure under my arm pit thus cutting off blood circulation. this is my first time buying a Mare suit I though it would be better because from a respected company. The material is good quality and thick but they didn't though about using softer material for sensitive spot on your body such as your arm pit. Feels bit uncomfortable because of the arm bit pressure.

I dive a lot in Bonaire, and being in my mid 50's after 2 or 3 dives, my core gets chilled. I was using a 5mm full suit.I stayed plenty warm, but sometimes too warm. The 5mm shorty is perfect.Easy to leave on between dives without over heating. Great suit, front zipper entry is great. Works out well

At first it seemed a little odd to have a shorty with a hood, but it turned out to work really well. I used it for some simple ocean snorkeling and body surfing and was very pleased with how it kept me warm and protected me better than a rash guard. It, like any wetsuit, needs a little help to get off and the length was a little small, but overall this is a purchase I am very pleased with and will use for a long time.

It is a very nice wetsuit. The only issue I have with it is that it's a bit difficult to take off yourself. I could get it off with a little help. It is comfortable to wear and I would recommend to a friend.

These must be European sizes. I always wear an x-large no matter what type of wet suit. I ordered an x-large and it definitely fits like a large! Also, the neck is quite large unless you are a football player, but the face seal works quite well, so I don't think that is an issue.
