My experience and recomendations about
- Chose size according to your height not chest size or weight.
- Do not wear it before 5 mins of your dive. Its terribly hot.
- Just forget about its semi dry feature. Its all wet suit. Water leaks from every openning wrist, neck and foot.
Now I need a dry suit for winter. And this suit is too hot for winter. Maybe a 5-4-3 trilastic was better for me for early and late summer and spring and fall.

I use everyday for my diving job. I stay in the water about 1.5 hours a day. It keeps me warm. This is my second sotherm Semi-Dry wetsuit. Won't use regular wetsuit again.

Size was interesting as I am just 6ft and slim build and normally would have been medium in most other things. After much discussion went with the large with a bit of apprehension but the leg length wouldn't want to be any shorter.
The Large is perfect for my size and shape.
Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
Suit is made in Europe and fits very tight, even going up two sizes could not get comfortable, rear shoulder zipper limits arm movement. Neck seal was so tight on XL I need to be removed as I almost blacked out. If you are lean and mean this suit is for you if not forget it.

Bought for my 13-yr old son for use in FL springs. Keeps water intrusion to minimum and stays much warmer than the FJ/Shorty combo he wore before. He is tall/skinny. I bought a small at first to ensure wrist and ankle seals would be tight enough. Had to exchange for Medium to get his feet through the legs. Fits his 5'11" 130lb frame great.
A full size adult may find tight.

Great cold water suit that keeps your core warm and dry.
Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
I used this semi-dry suit on a commercial dive where everyone else was wearing a drysuit. The water was 60 degrees, but at the end of 1 1/2 - 2 hours, I was completely warm. When I pulled the suit off in the locker room, my chest was completely dry!
I would highly recommend this suit if a drysuit is not an option.
The only cons are the drysuit style zipper is rough to close and open, and it's inconveniently placed on the upper back - so a buddy has to zip it up. It's also a bit tight around my shoulders. But that's to be expected, and was much less so than the 8mm suit I tried on when considering this one.
The Leisure Pro customer service is great. Dave was my sales associate. He communicated very well, and helped me out a great deal with making sure I had the right size, and with working through shipping issues to get the suit to me. I'll definitely use Leisure Pro again

Excellent Value suit. My boyfriend uses this suit in colder Melbourne, VIC, Australian Waters and it is very warm. Great quality including the Dry zip. Only trade off for he suit is that it is hard to zip up or off with out another persons help due to the rear entry (but rear entry is supposed to help the suit to be more semi dry)

Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
I've used this suit diving in temperate Australian waters (11 - 18 degrees celcius). The major con is it's impossible to don & doff the suit without assistance because of the rear shoulder zip. When I bought it I didn't think this would trouble me, but actually, it's a pain. In addition quite a bit of force is required to pull it across (even when lubricated). I've done about 20 dives in it and it's beginning to pull the zip out from where it's glued in at each end. It needs more re-inforcement in those places. The other thing is I have to 'burp' the air out of it before decending. I do this by holding open the neck seal while floating on the surface. Inevitably a bit of water enters. This may be because the diameter of the legs is a bit big. I can never get it all out though, and I've actually had to add a kilo to my weightbelt. It's also necessary to punch a small hole in the hood to let air escape. Other than that it's pretty good. Overall it's comfortable and warm, and it's a very good suit. The quality of manufacture is high. However if I was to make this purchase decision again I would choose something else, purely because I don't like to depend on others to get suited up.
Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
First let me clarify that I did not have the opportunity to actually use the suit in the water. I would have been happy to test the suit out but I had to stay within the return policy which states only un-used suits can be returned.
Wetsuits are not easy to put on, but as far as wetsuits go, the inner material of this suit made donning the suit easy. The rear zipper goes shoulder to shoulder and is a dry-suit styled zipper. This zipper requires a dive buddy to zip closed. All the material and stitching on the suit appeared of extraordinary quality. The built-in extra vest layer felt incredibly warm and comfortable. I also found the material on the seals to be both comfortable and effective. The seal did not choke me like on some of my previous dry suits. From previous wetsuit experience I could tell the suit would have been very warm in cold water.
The elasticity of the material made the suit feel very flexible and comfortable with the exception of the shoulders. The shoulders were not flexible because the material of and around the zipper cannot stretch. This made movements with the arms held in front, such as holding and aiming a spear gun uncomfortable.
I am 6’00” tall, 190 pound male. I am thin in the waist/hip areas and carry most of my weight in my upper body. The large size was too small in the chest and arms. The extra large fit my chest and arms but had a lot of extra room in the stomach, waist and hips. Neither size fit me well and regretfully I had to return both wetsuits. I say regretfully because I think it would have been an awesome coldwater scuba diving wetsuit had I been a little thicker in the waist area. I think the suit would have been a little stiff in the shoulders for abalone and spear fishing free diving, but for the thermally challenged, it probably would have been a welcomed compromise and worked great for that too.
Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
Wow was all i could say when i first tried it in open water! My Core stayed dry except for a little sweat. Did not feel any water entering the suit during a 76 minute dive in 62 degree water. Very warm, a little uncomfortable when fully suited up on land. I'm not a fan of the hood, as the opening cuts very close to my eyes and gets in the way of the mask, and it's difficult to turn my head with it on.
Overall i would give it a 4 out of 5, but for a wetsuit this thick, i don't know if the above mentioned cons can be corrected.
Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
It's a perfect combination of warmth and flexibility. By the end of 70-90 minutes dive I don't even think of being cold in 16-20C(60-68F)water. Looking forward to try in colder water soon.
I was in between two sizes on the Leisupro size chart, the larger one turned out to be the one. You feel a little discomfort from the zip across the shoulders, but will forget about it after half a dozen dives.

I got the XL i am 5'11 and about 210 it is tight everywhere. I could not put my arms down when the back is zipped up. I sent for the 2XL and it was about the same just longer. It was not what i thought it was going to be at all.

I am a dive instructor in Southeast Alaska and used the Isotherm when I was a comercial diver in the past and loved it. I bought a new model and as I lift weights it fit snugly. I have two dry suits as well and I tell you, I don't think you can make a semi dry any warmer. If someone wanted to dive colder waters on a budget this is the suit for you.

This suit is too hard to don and doff. If you have a body that fits in anything off the shelf it is probably a great suit for you.

Excellent suit if you dont mind rear entry. It's very hard to close the zipper by yourself. Other than that it's just can't be any better.

Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
Excellent semi-dry suit for cold quarry diving. Very comfortable in 50+ degree water. Easy to take on and off, but will probably need your buddy to help zip you up. Zipper and neck/wrist/ankle seals all help to minimize the amount of water that gets in the suit.

Comments about Mares Mares Mens Isotherm Semi-Dry 6.5mm One Piece Wetsuit, Black/Gray/Red:
Awesome suit. Great value for the money. I dove this suit the other day in 50 degree water for 66 minutes and I was comfortable throughout the dive. There is little to no water transfer and on some dives I have worn a t-shirt under the suit and the shirt stayed dry. The only problem I have with this suit is that you need help with donning and doffing it since it has a dry zipper.
