I completed my advanced diver certification in Lake Tahoe (55 degrees) with this suit, and it was a joy to use. It fits perfect and is very warm, especially if you get the zipper seal just right. During my dives, I noticed that no cold water was entering the suit; instead, only warm water was circulating (a huge step over my rental suit).
I love the ankle zippers. They make the suit easier to put on and take off. Looks great!

I am a researcher in Maine and the average temperature that I work in is 50 degrees. This suit keeps he warm while I am working in the water, which can be as long as an hour and a half in one shot.

I'm short and husky(5'8"-48"chest) and the XXL Short fits me perfectly! I wore it recently in Monterey and the Channel Islands(45-59 degrees) and I was warm-except for my hands!

I'm a recreational diver and I dive twice a week. The Bare progressive strech wet suit is really comfortable and warm. But could be a little more durable. The velcro on the neck seal is chaffing the shoulders on the outside of the suit. Other than that it's a great buy!

I bought this for the early summer season locally - too warm for a drysuit, but too cold for a 3mm suit. I have the 3mm version of this suit and love it and the additonal features on this thicker suit are great. I like the thumb loop at the bottom of the zipper to assist in closing the zipper and the "flip seals" in the arms and legs are great - strips of rubbery material that act as gaskets to hold warmed water into the suit. My legs were sloshing a bit walking out of the water, but I sure stayed warm in 55F water on a 45 minute dive!!

A great mid-price suit that is easy to put on, but still limits water intrusion.

I'm a newbie and this Bare Velocity is my first wetsuit. And, my first dive of the year, (April, 2008), wearing my Bare Velocity suit was in the 39 degree water of Green Bay. And I was kept pretty warm with this suit. The suit fits well, easy on and looks 'cool'. A 'cool' looking wetsuit makes almost anyone look like a 'super hero'. At least, my niece said I looked like a super hero. I'm eager to put this wet suit through it's paces this summer. Is wetsuit, one or two words?
Customer service was great. The product exchange was easy & fair. I had to exchange the wet suit once to get the right size.

This is a great product for a variety of uses. The only thing I found for my weight and height 185lbs - 5'11 was a suit one size bigger the large. Ordered ML and it was too tight. Called Leisure Pro they sent out the large in 2 days and was perfect.
Knowledge and delivery was excellent. I'am very happy with the service and the excellent buy from Leisure Pro.

My wife and I have purchased several Bare suits over the years, from 3/2mm suits for tropical diving to 7/6mm for temperate. All have impressed. Their tall sizes are a great fit for us, and the gasket seals do an excellent job of minimizing flow. We will continue to buy Bare suits.

I've used this suit to dive in the midwest where the water temp is typically 50-60 in the summer at depth.

I'm only 5'6" @ 215-235# (varies), so finding an off the rack suit at a good price was a challenge. I bought my XLS when I was 215#, but find I can don it even at 235# without getting winded over a dive skin. A little restrictive in the chest at that weight, but no hassle down below. Nice and warm for midwestern quarries, Lake Michigan, even Bonne Terre in January. Good enough knee pads. Silky lining is easily shredded by the velcro neck closure, so I keep a piece of cotton felt over the velcro hooks when not in use. Neck seal occasionally leaks down my back when not using the hood on hot days, feels kinda' nice! Recommend buying the VENTED hood; tight but comfy face seal. "Progressive Stretch" means only blue panels are extra stretchy, grey panels are standard neoprene. Beware of super cheap deals on Velocity product as BARE wasn't delivering "Progressive Stretch" til mid-2006. I've seen older product advertised for less $$, and the pix look the same. [...]
