ZIPPER: YKK #10 brass zipper. Akona's unique zipper design utilizes dual rubber strips to additionally seal the zipper opening when closed, creating a water resistant closure. In addition, Akona's low profile zipper flap folds over a closed zipper to further seal and secure the zipper in its closed position. Looking forward to being able to dive in Fort Lauderdale and Palm Beaches during the winter and colder water months. I live in a great diving center but can only take advantage of the diving in the summer when the water warms to 80 plus degrees. Being a Florida resident makes me very cold sensitive, now I have the freedom to dive when I want not when the water allows!!

I USE IN WATER 68 DEG OR COLDER-very warm-little water in trusion- Great seal skin seals out water in arms/ neck and ankles. Much better than O ring seals. This suit is dryer than my semi dry & costs alot less. Easy to get on and off but runs small. Buy 1 size larger than normal. Zipper is short but less zipper-less water transfer(just a trickel) and with a vest underneath water warms up fast. Unfinished wrist and ankel cuffs can be cut to shorten but I leave them & they stay tighter keeping water out. I love this suit, my second one. 1st one was too small & zipper pulled out. Buy 1 size bigger than normal

I was using this in 50degree water. It is warm, you get the usual cold rush in the back.
Problem I have is it is constrictive and affects my breathing. It is sized right. It also limits my motion which gives me a trapped feeling.
Extremely warm. no movement. I guess thats the trade off. I will be buyin another akona, but a two piece. Akona is good, just too thick.

For the discounted price, its a good suit. However, finish is terrible. The ends of the sleeve and ankles are left unfinished which could lead to premature wear and unraveling. There are no protection to prevent the zipper from catching on the glideskin. The glideskin behind the zipper is only 1mm, so if the zipper catches, its bye bye glideskin. The so called shoulder and BC protection are nothing more than tiny dots of rubber. Guess it's better than nothing. When I purchased this for myself, the Pinnacle Elastiprene 7 was at $304.00. Since the Pinnacle Elastiprene 7 is on sale now, I would recommend spending the extra $50 and going with that. That's what I got for my son. I would recommend this product only at the price of [$]not more.

Let me just say that I really like this suit, overall. The difficult part is putting it on. You'll likely need to enlist your buddy's help, depending on the fit. The zipper is shorter in the back than most wetsuits I've put on. I got in my pool with this wetsuit on when the water was 58ºF and it kept me downright toasty. Inside the last few inches of the arms and legs (and around the neck) it has a no-slip material that impedes water passage, allowing you to more closely control how much water goes in or out. Indeed, had I not introduced some water into the suit I would have started sweating. Having been chilled in the past with lesser wetsuits, the warmth is very welcome.

Diving California can be chilly at times. This suit was flawless. No water intrusion, easy on off not to bulky, very comfortable. Go one size larger they run small. large has 33 waist and small chest.

This single piece wet suit has way more flex than a farmer john style. It is comfortable and pretty warm. Worked well for Pacific Ocean dives in southern Califonia and Oregon. On a very cold dive I wore a shorty underneath and it worked great! The zipper is a little tough to do but gets easier after a couple uses.

Fits great, VERY WARM, 10 dives now in Lake Superior with low 40's bottom temp at 100+ feet, have not gotten cold yet, Looking forward to try it under the ice! Easy on and off, no struggle at all, almost semi-dry.

So far, I've been really satisfied with this suit. I volunteer as a diver at an aquarium, and this wetsuit has stood up well after scrambling over concrete ledges and bumping into fake coral and other structures. It's also done a pretty good job at keeping me warm for the half hour dives in the 55 degree F Lake Michigan tank. It looks good too, which is always a plus when you're diving in front of crowds.

Just buy this wetsuit and what is nice is that its all black color. The only problem that I had and was struggling so much when testing the suit was the zipper. I had to multilated some of the glide thingie that was under the zipper because that was kinda getting stuck until I just found out that you pull the cord at an angle. Anyways, gonna test it this weekend as of this writing.

I got a great deal on this wetsuit, but even had I paid MSRP, this wetsuit is a great one. Comes on and off VERY easily. ONLY con after 2 55 degree dives is that I do not see a key holder for the car key...
