Pinnacle's unique Merino-Elastiprene 3mm Hooded Vest can be worn by itself or with a dive skin or Shorty in warm waters, under a 3mmor 5mm suit in temperate waters, or layered with a thicker suit in cold waters to make any dive more enjoyable. The Elastiprene rubber makes the hooded vest more comfortable than others, and the Merino lining makes it warmer than any other hooded vest of similar thickness. Merion also does not promote the growth of bacteria, making it hygienic and reduces odor. The hood section is equipped with a 3mm face seal with smooth skin seal can be trimmed to custom fit the face mask seal. Hood has an automatic vent thatallows air to escape as necessary from the top of the hood while restricting water to re-enter. This Hooded Vest is extremely durable with stress disks added to all internal seam intersections for added strength, and all seams are double glued and blind stitched.

Size ran a full size smaller than listed. I have 2 other pinnacle wetsuits in size large and the large 3mm vest was a full 2 inches smaller in girth and also too short. The x-large vest was exactly the same size as my two other Pinnacle wetsuits in size large and it is also longer. The x-large is a great fit and construction. Neck seal is great. I have it for use under my 3mm Pinnacle merino.

Easy to don and doff, very comfortable, and stays put. I wore this under a 3/4/5 for a cave dive in cool water, and did not get the "middle of the spine" cold water trickle i used to get with un-vested hoods - exactly as intended. Makes it easier to zip the suit than standard hoods as well. I bought one for a friend, and he loved it too.

I use the 3mm hooded vest to add some more warmth to local freshwater dives and combine it with my 7mm wetsuit. It reduces water flow in and around the wetsuit, keeping my core much warmer. I imagine it will be great to add for tropical diving where I'm doing long, multiple dives for several days.

I bought this to wear under my 4/3 full suit. I like the hood attached to the vest. It keeps me warmer than just a hood, and it prevents water from entering into the wetsuit better than a hood by itself does. Pinnacle makes a fine product and I couldn't be happier with my choice. I highly recommend this for cold water diving.
