Brand: Pinnacle
Located in: Exposure Protection, Gloves
The Karbon-flex 4mm Glove is made for diving in very cold waters, specifically in applications where there is wear and tear on the palms, such as wreck diving, salvage, hunting, etc. Pinnacle's patented Merino lining adds warmth normally found in thicker gloves, yet does not hinder dexterity. The 4mm Merino titanium lined neoprene is extremely warm, and is complemented with wrist strap to ensure secure fit along with minimizing water transfer. Durability is guaranteed with the Kevlar palm and fingers which not only protect your hand, but they also ensure long glove life.

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

These gloves are rugged and very warm, but unlike any other Pinnacle glove I've ever worn, the interior seams have heaped up ridges of glue that feel extremely rough.

When I called Pinnacle and told them that I had a complaint about their Karbonflex gloves, the lady on the phone asked if they were scratchy. Obviously this is NOT an isolated problem. After wearing the gloves while driving and at home while watching TV, the seams have smoothed out a bit.

These gloves are very tough as nails and are in all other ways very good. One other thing that you should be aware of is that this gloves are approximately one size too small. I wear medium gloves and a medium wouldn't even fit past my 2nd set of knuckles.

Good glove. Warm at 58 deg for 1 1/2 hour dive. Wish it was a 5 mil, but the merino lining does great! Very flexible for the significant protection provided.

Decent, Can feel the Cold come through
By Locke from Baltimore on 10/23/2008
Pros:
Durable, High Quality
Cons:
Bad Value

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

These gloves are okay as far as warmth, I felt that they were cut small too. I would size up. I'm almost always a small in every other manu gloves, but in these the small crushes my fingers.

In very cold quarry water, I could feel the cold water come in through the seams. I don't think they are as warm as pinnacle suggests. I like my 5mm gold core Henderson gloves better. The kevlar is great though; very flexible and tough as nails. It would be nice to see a merino lined stretch glove like the 7mm Henderson stretch, with kevlar.

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

Great glove with unmatched durability. Allows for easy movement, but still manages to keep the hands warm. The fit is a little tight, but once in the water hardly notice them. I endured my Open Water, Advanced, and Rescue Dive tests and still no sign of wear. I am expecting them to last a long time!!!

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

Have not used this glove yet, but the dry fit at home was fine. Of all the gloves I have tried, this one seems to be the most durable and gives good dexterity. Only down side is that I can feel the stiches inside the glove. I thought that the merino lining would have made the inside nicer. Wish it had some of the seemless features of the Camaro gloves.

Overall Good Glove
By ChrisVerified Purchaser from Los Angeles, CA on 4/3/2008
Pros:
Durable, Good Fit, Prevents Water Movement, Warm
Cons:
Not Comfortable
Best Uses:
Cold Water, Professional, Recreation

Bottom Line:
No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

Good glove overall, seems very durable, but I don't like that you can feel the stiches from the inside of the glove. I was expecting the marino liner to give it a softer inside feeling.

Can someone please make a durable glove like this but seemless like the Camaro glove.

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

Dove at Boston last fall, it was warm. Although i'm wearing an XL, the size it a bit on tight side, probably it's because of the merino lining. other than that, it's a good glove and provides good insulation.

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

The finger tips are very well made, digging around the rocks for ab's they held up very well. Most gloves seem to get holes in them when diving for ab's. I think I will get many years of use out of them rather than just one year from most other gloves.

Comments about Pinnacle Pinnacle Merino-karbonflex 4mm Glove:

GREAT PERFORMANCE FOR BEING ONLY 4MIL. KARBON-FLEX PALM'S HOLD UP GREAT AGAINST SHARP ZEBRA MUSCLES, AND ALLOW GREAT DEXTERITY. I HAD THEM ON FOR 30 MINUTES IN 33F DEGREE WATER BEFORE FINGERS STARTED TO GET COLD,

I WISH PINNACLE OFFERED THESE IN 7 MIL.
THEY ARE A BIT SNUG BUT ONCE IN THE WATER THE FIT IS PERFECT. I WOULD DEFINATELY BUY THESE AGAIN.
