Following the Trilastic system concept, Mares created the most comfortable boots, engineered to allow the highest control and power transmission during fining action. The boot material differs depending on the area of concern. The ankle incorporates a super-elastic neoprene rubber for flexibility allowing free movement for less fatigue. The lower section uses standard neoprene rubber to ensure warmth. The boot is equipped with an YKK zipper with an internal neoprene seal to reduce water exchange adding additional warmth. Trilastic Boots are built tough with a reinforced toe and heel, rear notch to secure fin strap, and a raised heelto help keep balance when carrying the weight of all your equipment.

A nice quality made product, but the zippers a too lose and often come unzipped !
I do wear them OVER my suit though, maybe try wearing under ?
The sole is fantastic...very durable...nice and warm too. The fit is slightly sloppy..so I'd recommend going a size smaller.

Got these for my girlfriends cert classes. She takes a 6 1/2 shoe and we ordered the size 6 and they were way to big. We sent them back and got a size 5 and they fit perfectly.

I bought these after having to hike a 1/4 a mile to the dive site in full gear. I like having something more solid under my foot and the arch support they afford makes them more comfortable for me. I wear a shoe size 11 and bought these as 10s from the comments people made on them. Good thing. They could be just a skosh longer but I think the 11s would have been way too big in volume. Only dived them 5 times since the purchase so I won't know about durability for a bit but they appear to be quality made and they were an excellent price.

Just one quick comment. Before I ordered these I read the comments saying to order a size smaller than you normally wear as these boots run big. I can say that this is the truth. I wear a 10 in nearly everything and ordered a 9 in these boots and they fit perfectly.

Thy're sturdy and warm but they're a little bulky and hold a lot of water when coming out, and air when going in, requiring extra weight and lifting my legs in the water. Also, due to, perhaps, poor craftsmanhip, the inside of the left boot grinds against my foot when walking, at the lower end of the zipper, causing a stingy blister.

This is the second set that I have ordered. Excellent quality for the money. The first set that I ordered is over a year old and they're still going. Because I wash them off after using them, I haven't had any problems with the zipper or any other parts of the boot.

I wear a 10-10.5 size shoe, so I ordered the size 10 boots. However, the boots were too big and felt like I could have used a 9 or even an 8. They feel like they would fit when you try them on right out of the box, but once you're in the water your foot will slosh around. With my fins extra tight it minimizes movement. I wear just a regualr pair of socks for now, but I plan on buying a thicker neoprene sock to help eliminate movement.

Boots are made of very durable material and would not change them but they are a little bit to wide for me since I have thin feet. The only time it feels a bit uncomfortable is after the dive because my boots get flooded with water.

Shoes require two important features: comfort and resistance. I found these Mares shoes very comfortable even during long and deep dives where you experience cold water. Walking on rocks to get to the diving points, I experience their very good resistance...Excellent quality/price ratio
Due to their thickness, you have to let them dry quite a long time.

I used these boots on the a dive in 15 Celsius temp. The water sloshed around because i have slender feet. Regardless my feet were warm and they feel true to sizing in foot length. If you have slender feet, go one size smaller.

I initially bought a size 9, my normal shoe size, and noticed that they were too big. I switched out for a size 8 and they fit just right. They dive well, are warm, and feel secure in my open heeled fins. I even went for a run with these on the beach one morning to test the versatility. No problems. I've only had them for a few months so I'm eager to see how they stand up to more use. So far so good.

These are great boots, I use them in warm water and love them for walking out on a shore dive. It's like wearing a tennis shoe with these soles, excellent foot support and protection. Beware the sizing though, I'm a size 12 shoe and a 10 is only slightly tight, I ended up in an 11 which is a little loose. [...]

Bought these mainly for the hard-sole since we mostly dive in a quarry with a gravel shore entry. They work very well for that - protection of an average tennis show from stones. Zipper doesn't like to stay up unless you tuck it under the ankle of your suit. Both size 8 and 11 work fine with average sized fins. Haven't noticed any issues with cold feet in 55-65 deg. water.
