I use this on every dive and have been for years. It travels great and fits nicely on my bc rings by my back plate. Some say it is not enough air to make a difference. I say that some air is better than no air and I think it can save me in a bad situation. Once a boat guy turned my air partly on and 20 feet down I had no air. Things happen -- be prepared. Don't count on your buddy 20 feet away.

This is a must have for all divers. Don't wait till you need it!
Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
The benefit of this is that at any stage during a dive, you know you have enough air to get to another diver, or to get to the surface with a relatively easy CESA. This has changed the way that I dive, and in particular with photographers. At the start of a dive I will tell them that if they want my air, they need to stick with me, because I have my backup. No more dives ruined mindlessly waiting for photographers to move a total of 5 metres every 5 minutes.

This is a must if you are solo diving. Small, lightweight, and easy to use. I tested it at depth and it performs wonderfully. No hassles with TSA so far!

It light weight easy to use and because of the integrated one piece regulator you can pass to a buddy without the worry of maintaining a close distance in tight areas.

Just having spare air gives me and my wife a huge sense of ease, I had a regulator malfunction at 50 ft last year, glad it wasn't any deeper. Now I know there will be air for me or my buddy if that happens again.

Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
I decided it would be crazy of me to get back into the water w/o such a device....how stupid would I feel IF I ran into a situation where spare air was needed and I'd opted to save a few bucks. Just couldn't get those thoughts out of my head, so pulled the trigger. Why take the risk. How often is your dive buddy within reach...I mean close enough you could reach his octopus w/o having to take at least a few good kicks? Could you get there if you went to inhale and couldn't get that breath you needed RIGHT NOW...still got enough air to close up on your buddy and get to his octopus?
Spare-Air eliminates that concern.
It attaches easily to you BC...just remember to put it where you can REACH it easily. I found attaching it (open end down) near the lower end of my tank made opening the Velcro cover on the carry bag awkward...was out of the way yet retrievable, but took a few seconds to get to. Found this out while testing accessibility and function of it on one of my last dives of the 20 I did with Spare-Air at Cocos Island...no emergency, I had air and time to play with it.
The only downside I can see to Spare-Air is that you have to work a bit harder to draw each breath. Not a big price to pay to stay alive in a serious air emergency, however.
Dive to die for

Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
I take the spare air on all dives.I really like that in case of a total gas system failure you have an isolated 2nd system that can still give you a few extra breathes to either get you to your buddy or help get you up. Not real happy with the original pin air pressure gauge and believe they should come with the optional dial gauge instead. Other than that I think it's a fine unit.

I have been using this as a backup, just in case. It's very easy to use, I tested it from about 40 feet to the surface, worked without any problems. I feel more at ease now that I have a backup.

Luckily i haven't had to use this in an emergency situation yet but I did do a test dive in our pond to see just how long i could stay under. It is enough to get you to the surface but i wouldn't want to waste any time in doing so.
It is easy to use and easy to fill. Make sure you fill it off of a full tank so you can get maximum time out of it. Remember the psi in you tank is what you are going to get into your Spare air. I hope this helps!

Excellent equipment to carry when you make a dive. Little bit bulky but I attach it behind my back so not a problem.

Purchased to use while shore diving in Bonaire. It is a different feeling being alone with a buddy and not in a group with a dive master. This product worked great and gives a measure of comfort.

Redundancy can save your butt or your partner's! Stuff happens and one breath under water can kill you, so better to have a back-up than nothing at all.

I use the Spare Air for out of air emergency.
I received my Spare Air in good condition but with some missing components. I called Leisure Pro customer service and they were very helpful in solving the problem. Thanks for the help.

Product is to big for the little air it does supply. Only expect to get about 10 to 15 normaly breaths out of it. Product is good for a last resort option

Still learning on the carrying location for comfort and emergency usage.
Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
I bought it as tired of the octopus and it dangling about. Like it's size and strap it to my BC. At airports the travel kit makes it easy for them to see that it's empty.

ONLY 3 Cu Ft. Very limited to shollower depths. Not enough supply to get you up from under 90'. Be Careful....
Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
Make shure you use the spare air in a pool setting or shallow dives to get a feel of where you put it on your BCD and how to use it when you'r in the water you need to be able to rember it's there
Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
I was surprise how easy it was to fill the spare air tank from a regular air tank using the adapter which came with it. I have not had to use it in an emergency. You need to take the air out of the spare air tank before flying with it.
I have practiced using the spare air tank in the pool and also used in when I snorkled at Key West before flying back home from a dive trip.
Gives me peace of mine while diving.

I use these onboard my sailboat. Keep a Spare Air for quick emergency dives to clear a fouled prop of crab pot lines etc.
Also the kids love to play with it on shallow dives around the boat. I'm certified diver, kids are working on theirs...
Refills are quick and easy from an 80 cu ft tank onboard.

Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
I'm in the process of returning the the second one. The first one leaked air from the the pressure guage. The one I have now leaks from the fill port. I haven't used it yet but from other people I've talked to, if you are down 60 plus feet you'll only get a few breaths anyway.
Comments about Spare Air Spare-Air 3000 3.0 Kit, Yellow:
When I dive the spare air goes with me....But the best use I have found is for everyday use on a boat....A quick trip to go get keys or a stuck anchor and it gives you a piece of mind knowing you have 2-3 minutes of air in case of an emergency.
