(based on 36 ratings)
Brand: Tusa
Located in: Essential Equipment, Snorkels
The exhaust pipe features a special cross-cut design to allow for quick efficient clearing. The Hyperdry system helps to keep the snorkel clear and the mouthpiece is specially angled for a perfect fit in your mouth. This snorkel hasa special internal purge channel located below the mouthpiece, which deflects exhaled air out the top of the snorkel while excess water drains through the bottom purge valve. The Hyperdry System keeps the main pipe dry by ejecting water through an independent escape pipe. This unique design utilizes the angle of the snorkel pipe and the resilience of the water surface to eject water. The High Flow Purge design used on TUSA snorkels offers a covered large diameter purge valve for simple, quick clearing, reducing the amount of water remaining in the mouthpiece in an instant.

I used this product to snorkle in Cancun. It was easy on the mouth but there was an occasional gurgle in the mouth piece if all the water was not purged. It was easy to purge most of the water but occasionally not all. It was very resistant to flooding even in high surf.

Comments about Tusa Tusa Imprex II Hyperdry Flex Snorkel (SP-580Q):

I'm very happy with this snorkel, after using it for a few years. It was worth the regular price, so if you can get it on sale, you won't likely be disappointed. Easy purge, seems to resist flooding nicely. Note: it's not a ball snorkel, so if you're a complete novice and expect it to seal out all leakage, you'll be unpleasantly surprised. Otherwise, it performs as advertised.

Comments about Tusa Tusa Imprex II Hyperdry Flex Snorkel (SP-580Q):

This is a good basic snorkel, it packs small and has been very durable. The connection piece to the mask is great and keeps the snorkel in place. It gurgles a bit, as most snorkels with a purge do, that's the only thing I'm not crazy about. I've been happy with this snorkel.

Comments about Tusa Tusa Imprex II Hyperdry Flex Snorkel (SP-580Q):

This is the second one of these I've bought. Got one for myself, then this one for my wife. I bought mine for diving/snorkeling, and hers just for snorkeling. We just got back from the BVI, and our snorkeling was really enhanced. The snorkel is *very* dry.

The only issue I had was the flex portion of the snorkel was just a little short for me (big head, I guess). I got used to it though, and enjoyed the snorkel.

Comments about Tusa Tusa Imprex II Hyperdry Flex Snorkel (SP-580Q):

I never thought about the positioning of the mouth piece when ordering. This snorkel is unusable. If I put this on the right side the mouth piece angle down, is uncomfortable and I get a constant gurgle, if it's on the left side it wants to pop out of my mouth.

Bought this just to use at the surface for SCUBA but when we got to our destination - it was too rough to send out the boats so we got our wetsuits on and went snorkeling. In 2' choppy waves this snorkel stayed dry while my wife was less than pleased with her regular snorkel. This thing really is hyperdry!
