I had used an old snorkel for years and decided to treat myself to new technology. This snorkel was a pleasure to use!
Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
this snorkel is really ultra dry
Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
It truly is dry. It makes a big difference. The only thing is that the tube around the mouthpiece collapses under pressure when down to 12 feet. It just feels weird. Otherwise it is such a bargain at[$]I already recommended it to a friend who bought it too!
Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
This snorkel is really "Ultra Dry" I have tried over and over again to get water into the snorkel and I can't do it! The valve shuts the second water touches it, and seal off the tube. I wouldn't use another snorkel if you paid me to.
Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
I like this snorkel when it works. When I can't get air through it I don't like it so much. The float at the top of the barrel has become jammed in place several times and will not allow air to pass through. It is simple to un-jam it but you shouldn't have to. I'll stick to "semi-dry" snorkels as I have not found any of these completely dry snorkels to work perfect all the time. You can take out the float and have a dependable semi-dry snorkel but then what's the point? I'll recommend it but only if you know what your getting and are willing to put up with some problems
Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
I didn't get any water in my mouth.
It did kinda get in the front of mask but not real bad.

This is the best snorkel I have ever used. it is total dry. I recently was in Cancun snorkeling and the water was rough..... not a drop from the waves

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
This is a good piece of kit. I had to buy a second one as my wife refused to return mine! Purges large amounts of water well, but not so well small amounts, which can take two or three ticks to pass through the valve. Also the sliding clip holds well but can become stiff if only used on occasion.
Very good overall.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
a free diver, I bought this snorkel to reduce the amount of water i end up drinking in the ocean which is a normal thing (drinking water that is), it does prevent water from getting in, however, the peice which prevents water from getting in can be **dangerous** as it can jam and prevent airflow, jaming is caused by pressure having the snorkel no deeper than 1feet, best used in normal calm waters(surface only), overall, a plain snorkel is much more reliable as it has no parts which may fail.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Nice and lightweight snorkel. As stated, it is dry. as soon as water from a swell or a wave hits it it shuts right up even when u dive with it no water gets through.
Only 2 things about it that bothers me. One is the mouthpiece is somewhat small and hard. after a using it for a long period my jaw hurts, but that was taken care of by replacing the mouthpiece.
Another is that while it does stay dry when even when u free dive, as soon as u surface, half the time u'll end up sucking in water through the purge valve diaphragm. The diaphragm seems to get stuck open/wedged on the slits where it rests from probably the water pressure when u dive pass 10ft. Maybe it's just mine. oh well, doesn't matter. i'll still buy another one (^_^)

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Dry as it states. Used it several times in Maui. I tried to dive under the surface and inhale and it won't let you, it's true to it's guarantee. I wish it was able to switch over to the right side of your head since I've just been used to snorkels being on the right side of my head, but it's no big deal. The mouthpiece is angled preventing this, but it makes it comfortable. Gave me lots of confidence even with waves, etc.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
This item have to be use by somebody who are already comfortable with snorkel because of the restricted area of the tube near the float.
Reduce or make a special for canadian buyers...too expensive for obligation of taking express shipping.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Teaching my 7 yr old son to free dive spearfish in Baja..I didnt want the waves to effect his focus while stalking quarry with the constant snorkle clearing. His old snorkle was bad news. I got him the mini ultra dry and its the same as the regular ultra dry snorkle except the mouth peice is smaller for kids and tiny adults. This snorkle works extremely well. But remember, get your kid the ultra dry mini! not the regular adult size..My wife loves her ultra dry also. I tested hers and Ive got to get me one too.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
As stated in prior reviews, this snorkel remains dry even in heavy swells. The plastic piece at the top does come apart if dropped but it is easily reassembled. Unfortunately, I lost this during a dive (probably) when entering the water from a boat. This may be the result of a mismatch between the clip style and the mask it was attached to.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Absolutely dry - even when I tried to flood it (depth or near surface) I couldnt make it fail. Mechanisms are sound and mouth fatigue even after 4 hours in the water wasnt bad. Defintiely recommended.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
I used this snorkel on about a dozen dives before losing it on an acrobatic boat exit in the Carribean. I think the clip works fine, I just wasn't able to hold onto it during my water entry and just like that it was gone. It worked as advertised, very dry, purge is very simple and effective. Mouthpiece got a little uncomfortable during a very long (2 hours +) snorkel session. As mentioned by an earlier review, the plastic dry cover comes off very easily, but I never had it pop off during use.

Great for all types of diving. If you don't like saltwater in your mouth this is the best dry snorkel I have used so far.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Kind of heavy/draggy for diving, but very dry for snorkeling. Used it to snorkel w/ whale sharks and it worked great.
Mouthpiece is a little hard on the gums.
Very helpful in rough water.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
The snorkel is great. With other snorkels you need to save some 'air' to purge when you get to the surface, well with this snorkel you dont have to. If in the event that you got water in there it was very easy to purge. Great purchase.

Comments about Oceanic Oceanic Ultradry Snorkel:
Dry valve did it's job on the surface but only about 1/3 of the time for shallow dives. Another negative is how easily the dry mechanism pops apart, releasing little plastic components to Davey Jones.
