The bore is made from variable section flexible material to assist swimming, andthe top section is slightly bent to follow the profile of the diver's head. The shape of the splash-top has been designed to prevent water from entering the breathing tube when swimming through waves or wind spray.
The self draining purge system has an elliptical one-way valve that sits in a water collection well. The well keeps any residual water away from the mouthpiece and the breathing tube. The silicone snorkels mouthpiece is replaceable and is the same quality as the one used on Cressi regulators. This allows replacement of the mouthpiece rather than replacement of the entire snorkel once the mouthpiece is worn or damaged.
The lower end has a corrugated section that has a smooth internal bore which prevents trapping water inside the snorkel tube allowing excess water to quicklydrain to the collection well below. The corrugated section also quickly drops away from the diver's mouth when switching from the snorkel to the Scuba regulator. The snorkel keeper slides up and down the snorkel tube for perfect adjustment and comfort and has a quick release clip for fast and easy removal from the mask strap.

The flex tubing is stiff, so it isn't very comfortable. Look at the wave/splash protection. It's not a great design. It actually funnels wave coming from your right side into the snorkel. You'll drink some salt water. My wife's Scubapro snorkel was more comfy a lot drier while drifting the same reef. Also, I have sand trapped in the purge valve? Hum. . .

Do not need to spend a lot of money for a good snorkel. Cn use it for straight snorkeling or surface swimming to a dive location.

I've had some problems with snorkels in the past - consistent flooding when snorkeling and dragging/twisting in front of my mask when scuba diving. THIS snorkel is amazing! It remained out of the way when diving and I rarely had to purge when snorkeling. I highly recommend this snorkel. I love it.
